Well, it might not be confirmed confirmed, but this article is good enough:

http://news.toonzone.net/article.php?ID=3677 - Toon Zone News
http://www.retail-merchandiser.com/retailmerchandiser/headlines/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000930834 - Retail Merchandiser (embedded in TZN post)

This is just a nice little confirmation. When you click on the link provided in the Toon Zone News article, you'll see that the Retail Merchandiser article reads "Also included in the lineup are... DVDs from Cartoon Network..."

I hope they mean DVDs as in season sets, though, because the installment types aren't as convenient.

But, relating to all the other merchandise they plan on marketing later this year, the toys are items I may have to keep under my radar. Accessories and clothing are probably going to be targeted toward girls, so obviously, I won't be getting most of the other stuff.

As well as HHPAY has done for CN, I believe it. Great news for many Puffy AmiYumi fans.

I'd like to see cast comments on extras, but count me out of this one.

Considering the only show CN has released in season-set format is 'Samurai Jack,' and CN can make more money off of shows not selling in season-sets, don't expect one for Puffy AmiYumi. They'll be in installments, like CN's other DVD-ed shows.

Oh, and since I don't consider 'AmiYumi' worthy of picking it up on DVD, I won't be picking it up when it comes out.

And you state, "They'll be in installments, like CN's other DVD-ed shows" like you work at Cartoon Network. Looks like the toon master (NOT ME) is rubbing off on you. I hate it when people do that.

well, i don't know what i did:sweat:

i think freedom fighter is right about they will be in installments(or be cheap like the eee dvd that can be viewed dvd and extras in less than 2 hrs.) because the show is way to new (in my opinion) to get a season set

of course, now i notice what you said "But, Cartoon Network stated earlier that they would release the show in box sets"

but i will say this, do you work at cn???

well, i don't for sure, but as i said earlier, it has been on for about 6 months, and that is way too new for them to do that

but i will say this, do you work at cn???No. If you were here at the time, you would have known that Adult Swim announced it (as well as the Megas season set that everyone talks about, but you have yet to question them about) last year.

And, I quote, "Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi Season 1," as opposed to "EEE Episodic."

Not a show that would automatically deem "BUY THE DVD!" worthy, but I have a feeling I'm going to be buying this when I comes out on DVD. I mean, I own DBZ and DBGT DVDs and those shows suck. Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi is at least decent.

I hate it when people do that.Must've missed that statement. I guess Puffy could be released in season sets, but it's a toss up. Season sets aren't sure things for comedy shows as opposed to action shows.

You may berate me for saying it in that fashion, but I'm totally stating the facts. How many non-Adult Swim and non-anime shows that have premiered on Cartoon Network first have gotten released as season sets? Only one, Samurai Jack. (It'll be two if they ever get around to doing sets for Megas XLR.) I'm looking at the Eds, KND, PPG, Teen Titans... all in volumes that have a certain amount of episodes, but not an entire season's worth. Could CN release some of those shows as season packages? Definitely. But they don't because the individual releases bring in more money as opposed to season sets.

I'm just stating the truth, my friend. Granted, if there's a CN show I think deserves one season-full volume as opposed to three or four individuals one per season, I'll push for it just like anyone else. But I ain't gonna hold my breath, because CN is a business. They need money to operate, and they'll up the number of DVDs for a show to wring their properties to the very last drop if they have to, just to continue running the network and producing better shows for the future.

When they said that they were relesing Puffy in season sets they might of made a mistake, they are only human after all, and wasn't it in a live chat thing ot something?

It makes sense to release box sets for shows that have continuity like Samurai Jack (albeit weak). But box sets for shows that have none is just not necessary. Volumes are absolutely fine.

Sounds alright.

But sadly the greedy CN USA will never release these sort of things on R2 DVD.

The miniscule price of region free players on sale makes region encoding meaningless. Get yourself a player, then buy from Amazon or something.

Must've missed that statement. I guess Puffy could be released in season sets, but it's a toss up. Season sets aren't sure things for comedy shows as opposed to action shows. The show's easy to produce and brings in ratings like tow trucks bring in cars. Why wouldn't they want to bring this show to DVD so quickly? After all, with the Puffy AmiYumi merchandising frenzy starts up this fall, why wouldn't they want to get DVDs into the mix?

But they don't because the individual releases bring in more money as opposed to season sets.Teen Titans and Adult Swim releases are handled separately than are the releases for general Cartoon Network. I'm just going with what Cartoon Network stated THEMSELVES. I'll expect what I'll expect, and you'll do the same. If one of us is right, we will accept the words of the other.

EDIT - I partly expect volumes, though.

I know I'm not in business, but, Cartoon Network's doing things their (odd) way.

The miniscule price of region free players on sale makes region encoding meaningless.Yeah, but they say that region encoding goes against international law. Don't know what that has to do with anything, though.

Volumes are absolutely fine.Apart from the first three episodes, the scotsman episodes and to some extent the Aku Infection, Samruai Jack has no continuty at all

The miniscule price of region free players on sale makes region encoding meaningless. Get yourself a player, then buy from Amazon or something.I really wouldn't reccomend amazon.co.uk or Amazon.com. With .co.uk you can only buy though the market place sellers, a lot of them are very dodgey and unrelible. For instance I've heard people that have had the wrong thing sent, been sent broken good e.t.c. Even with the only time I used them they didn't send me all 4 discs (just 3) and then we had to go through tonnes of hassel and nearlly 2 months later we finally got it. amazon.com arent very good either, supposedly there quite unrieble but the thing that missed me of with them is that they take over 2 weeks to send and charged £3:50.

Dvdpacfic are much better, they only charge £1:50 and it arrives in 3-7 days! They supposed to be more relible (I can't say personally as I haven't used them)

My personal experience with Amazon has been a good one. I've only used .co.uk though. I usually shop on eBay because of the simplicity of Paypal. If there were to be a Puffy DVD, that's where I'd get it.

I would not have bought the DVD anyway, but seeing that such an...um, not great mini series with so little eps don't even put the whole lousy pilot season, makes me want to nationally advertize against buying the DVD!

And, you mean, "I would not buy the DVD, anyway," as the DVD has yet to be released. You really had no point posting here, though, because you said nothing that needed to be said (you hate the show, so why even post in a thread regarding the show [you have nothing to say that needs to be heard]).

I try and try to decipher your post, but it still makes no sense.

There usually are major changes made after the first season, so I call it that.
I just don't think releasing a flash mini series with so little episodes in volumes is a sell. Isn't it only fair to hear from both sides?
