The first half hour of Challenge of the Superfriends with the Wonder Twins, the so-called "lost episodes" from 1978.

It's still great to see these episodes on dvd especially for the humor value. Gotta love Super Friends...Does anyone know how many volumes of this series they are going to make?

Er, I don't get it. Weren't all the Challenge episodes on Volume 1?

Challenge of the Superfriends (1978) was an hour long show featuring two half-hour segments. Half-hour one featured the main seven Superfriends and Gleek facing a variety of menaces, allens, monsters, and the ocassional Superman villain. Half-hour two was the Legion of Doom episodes that many people referred to as the Challenge episodes.

The first box set featured the Challenge episodes from half-hour two, while the second box set featured half hour one from the same year. So far the entire 1978-1979 season has been released but as of yet there is no release dates for the rest of the series.

Ah, thanks. Well at least they've released the best season in its entirety.

Words cannot describe hilariousness of 'The Ballod of Zan & Jayna'. I love this set, as I haven't seen these episodes since the early 80's. Here's hoping 'The Legendary Super Powers Show' is the next series released.

Noteworthy is the fact that there's a hell of a lot of collateral damage done by the enemies in these cartoons. Less violent my posterior...

Since the following Superfriends series are 8 episodes long:
The World's Greatest Superfriends
Superfriends The Legendary Super Powers Show
The Super Power Team Galactic Guardians

I wonder if them might all be released in a 3 disc set?

Well I'm definitely pleased with the Volume 2 set mainly because I'm now able to see some of the episodes have haven't even aired on Boomerang or Cartoon Network. Among them are Invasion of the Brain Creatures, Wanted: Batman, Dead or Alive, The Incredible Space Circus, Battle of the Gods, Journey Through Inner Space, and The Rise and Fall of the SuperFriends, the first episode that featured Mr. Myxzptlk. The other episodes were pretty much edited when they aired as part of the Superman/Batman Adventures (which occasionally airs on BOOM as well), so it's good to have these here as well, especially since they're unedited. Some of them may look a little corny these days, but they're certainly worth the view. :)

Does this set contain Wonder Twins shorts?

Does this set contain Wonder Twins shorts? No. As Mr. Intensity said, these were the half-hour episodes from 1978 that aired after the Challenge of the SF series. The Wonder Twins and other shorts were from the previous year's All-New SuperFriends Hour. One of this set's bonus features does profile the Wonder Twins, but I haven't seen it yet. I was focused mainly on seeing the above-mentioned episode that haven't been broadcast since their original airings.
