Hi,
After watching the marathon (with a very selective judgement on what to keep), I still have questions:
1) What's with the "This version copyright 1998 Warner Bros." on some of the newer cartoons? Does this mean that those episodes are all as they aired on TV in 1998 or something?
2) Why is CN showing non-speeded up clips on their site (*cough*"Rabbit of Seville"*cough*) but showing the speeded-up versions? And why is it that only the best of the lot ("Rabbit", with "Duck Amuck" and "Rabbit Seasoning" looking pretty suspicious to me) get speeded up?
3) Granted, hardly anyone seems to have Boomerang, but how well did the Daffy marathon go, edit-wise?
4) Anyone notice how pretty much all of TV Guide's picks (note the logo at the start of the cartoon) weren't edited/sped up/etc.? Of course, I still need to go through the entire marathon.....
5) Why is it that the Blue Ribbon versions from the post-1948 years have the opening titles?
Plus, I have a comment: granted, Columbia House may or may not release more volumes, but wouldn't unedited releases be the best policy for WB and CN to get us to be quiet? Of course, ask any fan of Filmation Associates' cartoons, and you'll hear about how rather rude e-mails flowing from the network in reference to Filmation (and this from a network that used to air "The Gary Coleman Show".....)
