UPN Brings Back 'Fat Albert' for Christmas
Sun, Dec 9, 2001 11:25 AM PDT
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - On Christmas Eve, UPN will substitute "hey, hey,
hey" for the more traditional "ho, ho, ho."
The weblet will air the "Fat Albert Christmas Special" that night, marking
the return to TV of Fat Albert, Mushmouth, Weird Harold and the rest of the
gang, based on Bill Cosby's experiences growing up.
The special, which originally aired in 1977, finds the gang helping out a
homeless family at Christmas time while at the same time being threatened by
junkyard owner Tyrone.
"Fat Albert" was a staple of CBS' Saturday morning in the 1970s and early
'80s. UPN and CBS are now both parts of the Viacom empire.
The "Fat Albert Christmas Special" airs at 8 p.m. ET Christmas Eve.

Never knew there *was* such a special (or if there was, it's been way many years since I've seen it)....guess I'll have to program the ol' VCR (planning on being with my family out-of-town on Christmas Eve and such) for this thing...
