I was looking through a issue of "Starlog" I beleive it was called and they had a article on The Justice League in it with a interview with the shows creators who said something that I hadn't really thought about. They said The Justice League has no Leader. Something that had never really crossed my mind. They said the team has 7 "Captain Kirks" as they said basically 7 people that can lead at any given time. But in the episodes I've seen so far Superman seems to take charge in most situations and mediates between the team and others (like the phone call with the Military in "Enemy Below" pt 1).He also seems to be the glue that keeps the team together and focused on doing whats right. What does everybody else think of the so called Leaderless Justice League.

It's Superman. In the release awhile ago when the characters were first announced, it said Superman is the "natural leader." Besides, he's Superman.

I agree that there is no one leader of the Justice League.

Whoever is "leading" basically depends on who is the most adept for the situation at hand and even sometimes whois the first to step foward and take charge of the situation.

Now, in regards to Superman he is a good leader but he isnt *the* leader.

His role is actually much, much more important.

He is the heart and the inspiration of the team. After all, it was he who put forth the idea of staying together as a team to become a force which could truly work for the ideals of peace of justice.

If any other memeber of the team had said that it wouldn't have had the impact. But because it came from *him* then it meant something.

Even the Flash thinking it was all corny sounding was the first to step foward and agree that they could make it work.

and thats what Superman does. He's the diplomat, the raw strength member, and the guy who can make all the different personalities on the team let go of their egos and realize the potential they have together.

In my estimation, the League has no technical leader, but the *spiritual* leader of the team is undoubtly Superman.

It's pretty clear that the JL members step up as leaders when they're needed. Superman handles league relations. J'onn directs them. Green Lantern does tactics. Hawkgirl does frontal assaults, and Wonder Woman is a leader too. Batman...well...he rescues everyone.

Nah, Flash rescues everyone. Batman's their reserve member, he just comes in and saves the day. Duh, that's always been Batman's job :)

Each member of the Justice League could easily lead a lesser team on their own, couldn't they? But while they each, in turn, have their own moments of leadership I still think that Superman comes out a little ahead in the leadership category (Batman would come second, but he's not as approachable).

Hmmm...I don't like how Superman has assumed this leadership role. I think that each member should take the "lead" when appropriate or necessary, and that no member should "give orders" to any other member.

While there is no true leader, I think that it is just part of Supes' personality that he sometimes comes up with plans for the others to follow. But he isn't always in the leader role. Look at Batman, he was the one who planned the whole thing that took down Deadshot, and he and J'onn planned the downfall of the white martians.

It's not really that Supes is bossing the others around, it's more that he tends to come up with plans first that the others are willing to follow. After all, somebody has to plan their attacks. Supes isn't being bossy, he just provides them with plans which they obviously need when they're facing enemies.

If you were to look at yourself and your group of friends, you would realize that you are somewhat similar to this too: There are those of you who come up with ideas for what to do, which movies to go see, etc., and those who just go along with whatever is planned.

I think each person does there part on the team. In "Secret Orgins" John was the one who decided and chose the teams for the League to break into.

Supes like MattL. said is the diplomat of the team. Someone has to keep the differnt personalities in check. In "Blackest Night" he keeps Hawkgirl from gun blazing. Same with Green Lantern when Aquaman pissed him off he had to hold him back and make him realize what the priority of the current situation was (getting the people off the sub.

They lie. I watch the episodes and it is always Superman. Superman! SUPERMAN! I am sick of Superman! :)

*sigh* yeah great another Bat-fan blasting Superman. Theres something new.

Superman was the first, and both Batman *and* Superman are the greatest heroes of all time. They are *both* cool.

Deal with it.

Okay, everyone calm down.

Mathematics proves: If there's room enough in the show for 7 superheroes, there's room enough for 2.

I just read the article you're talking about, Knight, and you're right: the Justice League has no official leader.

personally, i have never liked superman(yup, batman is my fav) and it kinda pisses me off that he is kinda the leader. he is not technically the leader, but he just assumes the role. and im sure that this makes other people happy. and, most likely, if u asked random people to guess who was the leader, they would say Superman, just because they probably only know him and batman, and Batman is not very friendly. but whatever, as long as batman is in most of the episodes i dont care. And btw, he might have said he doesnt want to be in the JL, but he is in the intro and he is the coolest :)! i still hope supes isnt in all the episodes though.
