He started a whole mythology with the Gargoyles, and gave The Batman substance, two seemingly impossible tasks. Now, what if we gave Greg Weisman complete creative control over an animated Marvel Cartoon? Would it be a new Spider-Man cartoon, or something completely different? The Defenders? Captain America & The Avengers? She-Hulk or Spider-Girl? What Marvel property would you like to see Greg Weisman bring to animation?

Get as detailed as you would like! Have some fun with this!

Because of Gargoyles, my knee-jerk reaction would be to want to see Greg do his take on a team book like the X-Men or Avengers, but I wouldn't mind seeing him handle a solo character as well.

I think he could do a mean take on the Fantastic Four. There's so much there for him to go to town on; seeing him tackle the family dynamic alone would be guaranteed goodness. Spider-Man would be a cool character to see him take on, I think he could handle Peter's world really well.

I'm inclined to say X-Men or Spider-man. I could see him working with these worlds fairly easily; he's got the mad talent, and the capability. There hasn't been a Spider-man cartoon that's lasted long enough (in my opinion), and that goes for X-Men as well. I'd love to see his take on these heroes.

I think the most obvious thing to say would be Thor, what with all the use of mythology in Gargoyles. Inhumans would be interesting too. Didn't he say he drew on Jack Kirby for inspiration for the New Olympians?

He could also do a cool Ghost Rider or pair him up with Keith David again to do a Black Panther series.

I think Greg Weisman is talented enough to do anything, really, I just wouldn't want to see another Spider-Man or X-Men series when there's so much more in the Marvel Universe to do.

Anyone he damn well wants at this point.

Personally, I'd love to see a Spider-Man series not held back by censors. MTV version could have been that, but dammit, I don't want it tied to the movies either. I want a sadistic Green Goblin.

I think him doing a cartoon based around Thor and that mythology would be great. It would be a tough sell but he'd be able to do it. Like with Gargoyles he could ease the audience into the complicated backstory and go from there (BTW, glad to hear that Gargoyles: Season Two is coming to DVD!). I'm sure he could even get away with making a teenaged/early 20s Thor if he had to.

But the idea of an unrestrained Spider-Man cartoon with a truly sadistic Green Goblin? That would be so cool.

I'd like to see his take on Daredevil. I even think Matsuda's artistic style would work wonderfully on The Man Without Fear.

I've never seen Gargoyles, but I've greatly enjoyed his work on The Batman, and to be honest, I just really wanna see a Daredevil cartoon.

Daredevil has that ninja background to him and I could see him and Elektra just battling full out. And if they need the goofy character? Well you got Foggy right there to provide a chuckle.

I'd love to see the old X-Men series done with today's animation technology and production values. I have been watching the Jetix reruns of X-Men and viewed Task Force X (JLU) yesterday, and the two mingled in my mind into something very exciting. The animation in X-Men is painfully dated. It would be great to get an upgrade with a new series.

If not that then do an Ultimate Spiderman animated series.

Feel free to post in the talkbacks! I'd like to have someone to discuss episodes with in those threads! I'd really like to have a new X-Men series and I hope we get one in a year or two maybe after X3 comes out. I still think there is plenty of potential for an animated X-Men series.

I see you mentioned "Task Force X" (cool JLU episode!) and I can't think of a Marvel equivilant besides Nick Fury Agent of S.H.E.I.L.D. and Silver Sable and The Wild Pack. I wouldn't mind seeing an esponiage type show but that would be a hard sell for Saturday morning.
