Ok, tonight CN air on Toonheads the episode The Early Works of Friz Freleng. I think where the cartoons was air on this episodes are:

- A Musical cartoon: Rhapsody in Rivets
- A Speedy cartoon: Speedy Gonzales
- A gangster cartoon: Catty Cornered
- A academy-Award winner cartoon: Knighty Knight Bugs
- A rare cartoon: Bosko's Picture Show (uncut, please!)

What you do think? :D

Other than maybe "Rhapsody in Rivets," I doubt any of those will be shown. "Speedy Gonzales," "Catty Cornered," and "Knighty Knight Bugs" aren't early works, and Bosko's Picture show has two strikes against it (has Bosko and a swear word). I think they will only show stuff from the 30s, when he just started directing.

I doubt we'll see any later stuff. I would imagine they will include five EARLY Freleng cartoons, and I have seen scenes for these in the ads:

"Mr. and Mrs. Is the Name"
"Sinkin' In the Bathtub"
"It's Got Me Again"
"Beauty and the Beast"
"I Haven't Got A Hat"

Whether or not we will see these I don't know, but it's a good bet. Martin, what you listed would be ideal for a "Friz Freleng" episode, with his later works.

Actually, I don't think we'll be seeing anything produced after 1942 at the latest...that is, if the special will remain true to its title.

If, IF, they show an Oscar winner, it will probably be "Tweetie Pie," since it was Friz's first.

And also, *IF* they show a Bosko, it will probably be either "Sinkin' in the Bathtub" (then again...) or "Bosko in Dutch."

Has the network yet aired some of the mid-1930's b&w Merrie Melodies that Nick used to show? I think Friz directed a few of those like "The Girl at the Ironing Board."

Tweetie Pie is unlikely, since it's been on Toonheads already. Tweetie Pie was on the Controversy ep.

Rhapsody in Rivets was on the old season, but it could still make the cut since Tweetie Pie and Rhapsody Rabbit were both on the old season too!

Freleng started to direct in 1933 (a few uncredited Harmon-Ising cartoons) and officially directed in 1934.

Toonheads shouldn't show anything after 1940 to stay in the early works theme
