Looks good, and some of those shots are pretty sweet; the likeness of a number of the characters, especially Ducard and Rachel, is uncanny.
I'll likely wait a while to get the game, but it looks pretty killer, regardless. I just hope the gameplay is good, too.

From reading past issues of EGM, there is no major villain or boss in the game. The majority of the game is you sneaking around or going from place to place.
Things could change of course, that was just what it originally was planned to be...

If its a game following Batman Begins...shouldn't the major villains be Scarecrow and Ra's Al Ghul?

A major villian probably wont appear till the middle of the game, or until your tired of beating up misc. bad guys. You know the type, rob a bank, steal from an old lady and then the story gets interesting. They'll most likely go for the Spiderman 2; free from idea. Which will be really cool if you can pilot the batmobile, it would be even cooler if the old 80's two dome bubble car could be unlocked.

I have no idea if Batman Begins will feature cool walk-on henchmen (there has to be a few, right?), but they could take a cue from the old Batman Returns SNES game and feature the minor foes. That game used the stun gun clown, strong man, the duckmobile, and even the Penguin's campaign car as bosses.
IGN had a recent article where they went hands-on, and they liked it, citing a few stiff animations and stiff cape (where's the Batman: Dark Tomorrow cape programming team when you need them?)
I'm more worried that it's going to be another Stealth game, when really, as Batman, I should be able to walk up a thug, and if I feel like it, completly and utterly kick the living crap out of him.
Wolverine's Revenge tried something similar, and I ended up continually dying because of some punk with a machine gun. It got really old really fast.
As far as villains go, I thought they were doing what the Spider-Man movie games do, the movie vilains as the big baddies whilst having some of the comic villains make up the rest of the villains?
A poster from the SHH forums has completed the game and found new costumes. They look pretty sweet!

Is anyone planning on picking up this game? I think I'm going to wait for a few reviews before I get it, I'm never too sure with these movie tie ins.

Assuming its a halfway decent Batman game, then yes I'm grabbing it. Actually, I also have Batman: Dark Tomorrow and found that moderately enjoyable despite the negative reviews, so I'm easy to please...
Funny thing about the last movie tie-in game I played, which was Return of the King. The game had beautiful recreations of movie scenes you could play through, but there was very little actual movie footage (98% of the cutscenes were from the first two films). It's like they can spoil the story for you, but not the actual movie.
I'll probably wait till the price hits greatest hits or bad game price.. I'm cheap like that. :p I like how it's coming out though.

Things could change of course, that was just what it originally was planned to be... I wouldn't mind if it stayed that way. I remember EGM comparing some aspects to Splinter Cell, and I highly enjoyed that game. Hopefully BB is a great game as well.

I hope it's good because I wouldn't mind my hubby picking it up.

Question: do more movies now come with contract stipulations where the actors have to lend their likeness and voices to the video game tie-in? Or has EA just gotten extremely lucky with their deep pockets for LotR, Bond, and Batman?
Apprantly, the video game voice roles were written into thier contracts. I read an interview with Bale and Micheal Caine about them voicing thier characters, Caine says he really enjoyed himself.
...Can't seem to find the link now, Sorry. :(
I hope this is good, I don't think there's been an awesome Batman game since the animated ones on the old 16 bit systems.

Well IGN (http://ps2.ign.com/articles/625/625794p1.html) has its review of Batman Begins up, and after three pages of somewhat repetitive banter, it's not very favorable.
Meh. I'll probably grab it anyway, once its really cheap. EA's production values always make for an attractive package. If someone actually combined all four of the current-gen Batman titles, we might actually have the ultimate Batman experience.
The IGN review was the worst review of a game I've read in a long time. I know they're world renowned for being ignorant reviewers, but this was terrible, even for them.
Given how broke I am (and how much I hate stealth games) this is a rental, if it's good, I'll get it when it becomes obsurdly cheap, much like Spider-Man 2 did.

What exactly is everyone's beef with IGN anyway (discounting the Gunslinger Girl review which has been torn to pieces on the anime board).
Inbetween their chatter they do mention the highly scripted situations, which is something I'm gonna have to check other reviews for.

I find them to be very arrogant in thier reviews, and with the stuff I read, they always tend to focus on features I really don't care about, such as the sound and online play. I've also noticed they tend to bash games for 3/4 of the reviews, then add about how good bits are, then give it a high score.
I think I'ma rent this after I (finally!) see the film tomorrow. :)

The Gamecube channel posted a slightly better review (http://cube.ign.com/articles/626/626615p1.html), giving the game a 7.6 over the 6.8 of the PS2 and X-Box review. It's also done in a more coherent fashion.
I dunno, I think Matt Cassamassina's Gamecube reviews are usually very well done and informed. I don't know how the other channels work since I don't own a PS2 or X-Box, but he covers the bases relatively well. Also the Gamecube has no online play, and he's been covering Nintendo long enough to know that harping on it is pointless.
Well, I've rented this, and a lot of the few levels I've played has featured it telling me what to do. The game looks beautiful, and I've already unlocked more extras than most games have and I'm only a handful of levels in.
Looking pretty good so far...
I rented it. The whole thing has come off as a Splinter Cell clone minus the guns. It's a rental at best.
