Did anyone see the Superman skit on SNL? It was based on the Superman movie with Hugh Jackman as Superman and Will Ferrel as the Marlon Brando Jor-El. While Superman tries to figure out who he is, Jor-El and Lara ask about his love life and ask if he needs money, if he has a dog.
JOR-EL "Oh and uh...Kal-El..."
SUPERMAN: "What?"
JOR-EL: "Nothing."

LOL!! :D I actually watched SNL tonight and was really glad I did. It was hilarious! Hugh Jackman is pretty damn talented. I loved it when he sang 'Music of the Night.' The Superman skit was great. Man, I wished I would have taped this ep.
Superman:"She's not my girlfriend, Dad." Hehe :p

I saw it, and laughed. But wow, I could not tell that it was Wolverine hosting the show. The hair must really make the man.
I can remember two more Superman-like skits in the recent past. A year or two ago, The Rock hosted, and they did a Supes skit where he tried to hide his secret identity, but when he came in as Clark his Supes costume was hanging out of his clothes. That was funny.
There was also one, maybe even last week, that had a guy called, I think, Molecular Man, and it was basically Superman, cuz the guy worked at a newspaper and the costume was similar. He eventually got deported.

I knew they were gonna do some sort of comic book skit last night becuase of Jackman. I though they would put him in the yellow spandex Wolvie suit, but this skit was just as good. I thought the skit was hilkarious, and that "colorful" crack at the Superman suit was hilarious. The best skit had to be one of the first, with some of the cast members in college (I just can't think of the name). Jackman was hilarious in that one.
And Jackman did make a pretty good Superman. And Ferrel was perfect as Jor-El.

A long time ago SNL did a Death of Superman skit. They had the Justice League on it, and a couple heroes...

Jarret's Room. That also contained a comic book reference as Jackman, portraying a full-on nerd with braces, complained about the casting choice of Tobey Maguire as Spiderman.

That was pretty sweet. It was the Sinbad episode. Sinbad played Black Lightning, lookin really lame with an afro and everything, and they wouldn't let him into the service because no one knew who he was. Lois kept asking Jimmy where Clark was. Phil Hartman as Perry White kept exclaiming "Great Caesar's Ghost!" I think Aquaman brought shrimp. Al Franken as Lex Luthor attempted to put on a mournful front, but then grinned and admitted this would be a very good year for him. At the end, they received word of a crime in Metropolis and one of them went up to the front and started asking things like "How many of you can fly? OK, get going. How many of you have super strength?" and accordingly dispatched them.
But I think the highlight of the whole skit was Chris Farley shirtless and painted totally green as The Hulk. He delivered a eulogy that started out as "Hulk ... not ... good with words ..." He then put on reading glasses, took out a sheet of paper, and launched into a very wordy tribute to the fallen hero that ended with something to the effect of "He was ... MY hero." Years later, Sinbad played this clip on his late night talk show (VIBE) the night it was reported that Chris Farley died.

I watched SNL with Jackman, but missed that sketch. Although, did you guys notice during the internet tv show his spoof on comic fans. Hugh plays a nerdy electronics whiz. He starts off by making fun of Tobey Maguire as Spiderman. This was probably a knock on all of the Wolverine fans who did not like him playing the part.
It is funny you mention the "Death of Superman" skit on SNL. I was going through a tape I have yesterday and it was on their. I watched it again. It really is hilarious.

That was Conan O'Brien. The gag was that every time someone mentioned his name, Moleculo, he would look tightly into the camera and shout "THE MOLECULAR MAN!" even when in disguise as his secret identity.
