Just saw some of the episodes.

This is really different from the movie. Yes, it has the same disturbing stuff going on, but everything is pretty different. People talk in this, the cats are very rude (and evil..), and the little cat don'st seem to talk much.

It seems the show is from 1999, it has a total of 27 episodes, all together they only run at about 30 minutes..

This is one case where the manga-ka clearly had issues. She committed suicide, you know.
