besides seven how about eight heros in the JLA? I pick a eight hero like firegirl from the 1990 justice league comics seven is not a enough because there a lot of villians in the JLA so i pick a eight hero the reson why I pick the eight hero because 1. more women heros. 2. more women in the jla. I think that would work good.

roster

superman

batman

wonder woman

flash

green lantern

j'ozz J'ozz

hawkgirl

firegirl

would i work in the jl series :) ?

Fire?

You're joking, right?

There's a HUGE line of heroes that have first dibs.

Blue Beetle

Guy Gardner

Booster Gold

waaaaaaait...this is YOUR fault! Dredging up memories of that...thing.

Anyway...

Black Canary

Green Arrow

get first cracks...

Atom or Green Arrow.

Although Fire gave me a good laugh to hear suggested :D

That or Plastic Man, Dr Fate, or Firestorm

While I think Fire's powers might make a good fit here, the show feels very "Silver Age", and each character has a long legacy.

This poses the same problem for women members in the JL cartoon as it does in the JLA comic book. There just are not any with the recognition factor necessary.

Isis - who isn't even a DC character - MIGHT have enough recognition due to her live TV series many years ago. Other than that, you have to work your way up.

Black Canary, Zatanna, Vixen, Gypsy, Fire, Ice, Dr. Light, Power Girl, even though some of these have existed since the 40's, just don't make the cut.

Dr. Fate (STAS appearance),
Plastic Man(40's hero and had his own cartoon), and
Captain Marvel/Shazam!(40's hero and live show same era as Isis)
all come first.

IMO the choice would have to be

Aquaman, Atom, Green Arrow, Plastic Man, or Black Canary. Those are the members who are the most associated with the team and would deserve to be in JL.

And I'd probably not include Aquaman because it's too hard to write stories in which he'd work well. It's just too hard to write stories that would keep him in the water, and out of water, he's just another strong guy. The team already has Supes, WW and to a lesser degree J'onn. I'd probably choose Green Arrow, but Black Canary comes in a close second.

Green Arrow! Green Arrow! :D

I've thought about it more and I think I'd want to see Atom before GA. It seems like Lanterns and Flashes always go together until an Arrow gets into the picture, and then the Flash gets ditched.

I'd rather explore John through Wally than exploring John through Ollie. Something tells me they're too similiar anyway.

I choose Ray Palmer, the Atom.

We really don't need an permanent eighth JL member, but they could keep the "rotating chair" concept from the current books.

I agree with including the Atom. Isn't Ray a scientist himself? There is a lack of scientific knowledge in the team, especially raw scientific knowledge. Batman only goes so far becuase he only uses it to figure crimes out.

Ladies and Gentlemen, one of my favorite scenes from The Simpsons:

Marge: Homer, I brought someone to help you.
Homer: Batman?
Marge: No, he's a scientist.
Homer: Batman's a scientist.
Marge: It's not Batman!

The Justice League's scientific needs are currently filled, but the Atom's a welcome guest star anyway, :D.

Heh. I'd put Batman in the category of Forensic Scientist. He knows a lot about science and how to use it to complement his detective work, but I wouldn't expect him to know how to, say, build nuclear weapons or come up with a cure for cancer. I might be wrong, but I believe Atom is more specialized in the area of Physics, and also probably knows a bit about biology from some of his microscopic travels through bloodstreams and the human body.

I want to see Thunderbolt ! I swear, did not DC have a short lived comic book hero called Thunderbolt back in the 90s? I think I have all the issues lol

GrayGhost: Thunderbolt? The only Thunderbolt I remember from DC is the one Johnny Thunder from the JSA had which basically was kind of like a blue thunderbolt with the torso, arms, and head of a man formed out of it. Then again, I doubt he had a series in the 90s.

He probably means the Charleton character, Thunderbolt, upon whom Ozymandias was based. I heard somewhere that he is no longer owned by DC.

Does he mean Jonni Thunder: Thunderbolt? I think that there was a female character with that name as well.

I'm pretty sure that DC still owns all of the Charlton heroes.

No, I think he's reffering to Peter Cannon: Thunderbolt. I think DC lost the rights, too. :D
