I posted this over at the Hype! but I figured you guys would enjoy this as well, seeing as there are many TMNT fans over here.
Who do you think is most likely to be the villain in the upcoming TMNT CGI film?
I listed those who I feel are the most likely to appear.
Personally, I'd like to see the Shredder Elite. This way we can see some crazy ninja fighting action and maybe the City At War storyline. Which is the best of the storylines from the comics. I think the tone of CAW would fit nicely as a sequel to the first film.

Thought I'm not that excited about a CGI TMNT movie, I'd like to see Baxter Stockman get his time in the spotlight. Be cool to finally see Mousers on the big screen.

The Shredder Elite Guards with Karai leading them would be great for a movie.

The City at War storyline would be really cool to see. Stockman is due for a big movie role, and the mousers would be a very menacing threat. Personally, as long as its not "just Shredder" I'll be happy.

I'd have to go with Baxter Stockman on this one. The man is due.

I really think it's going to be Shredder. I don't think they would do a movie and not involve the main villian. It also opens up the possibilities for other villians because when you get Shredder you also get Hun, Elite Guards, Baxter Stockman, the Foot etc. I don't know why everybody is so bummed out with the thought of Shredder being the main villian. It would create some great action scenes and he's been there from the start.

I'm not exactly bummed about the idea of Shredder being the villain again. It's just that he's had his turn twice (after already supposedly being killed the first time, and possibly even the second), and I think it's fair to give one of the other villains a turn. Imagine if Spider-Man only fought Green Goblin in every movie, or Batman only fought the Joker in all four movies. It would just get boring after awhile, IMO.
I don't know if the movie will be based on the original comics or not. If so, Hun won't be there because he was credited just for the new series, though I guess they could choose to add him if they wanted to.
So, while I don't hate the idea of Shredder showing up for a third time, I would rather see another villain get his turn. (Of course, I'd also rather see a live action movie instead of a CGI one, but that's just me. :) )

Perhaps they could do a stroyline with the Utroms, or even for old times sake, bring in Krang.

Keven Eastman and Peter Laird did everything in thier power to ensure Rocksteady and Bebop did'nt appear in Turtles II, what makes you think Laird will bring in Krang?

The Utroms (not specifically Krang) are a distinct possibility as characters, given their importance to the TMNT mythos. TMNTII was rumoured to have that scene of Prof. Perry revealing himself to be an Utrom, after all.
If this new movie is going to theatres, Shredder will definitely be included, if only in flashback sequences. A DTV would appeal to the hardcore fanbase that knows about the Triceratons, Rat King, etc., but the general audience only knows Shredder. Plus, you'd need to reference the first film to reestablish the timeline.
Otherwise, I'd like to see Karai and the Foot Elite (the guys with the "nice hats.") in a City at War storyline.

I'm sure Shredder is going to be there (everybody will expect that, after all), but I hope he won't be alone- I want to see some other bad guys get their shot, too.
In fact, I'd *really* like 'em to exploit the advantages of CGI and have the entire Triceraton army show up.

Yes, I'd like to see the Earth infested with Triceritons. That would own. Just as long as they keep those Superheroes out of it. That's what ruined it for me in my opinion. I like to think of this as Ninja action, not super heroes.
(Still waiting for a Legend of Zelda live action movie.. haha lotsa luck with that one)

Uh the fact that he's a nod to the Utroms and that he's ten times more popular a villain than Bebop and Rocksteady ever were?
Seriously, I've outgrown the old show and prefer the newer one and yet I still miss Krang. He needs a comeback. And I'm sure there are about 200 other people somewhere that agree with me.

Almost every letter on the subject mentions EVERY villain from the original series, Rocksteady and Bebop are equally as popular as Krang.

And I'm sure there are about 200 other people somewhere that agree with me.You got him back already in "Secret Origins Part III", the new series has enough original series references and influences to practically REPLACE it.
I'd still pick the original series over the new series, but I know when to keep someone like Krang out of a Mirage movie in any form.

I suppose Krang wouldn't be in the movie, but it still doesn't count out the Utroms as a whole.

Somehow I think they'll keep the sci-fi aspect to a minimum in the new movie.
I'm thinking only urban villains would be used, and the Foot Clan (with or without Shredder) seems to be the main choice.
There is nothing like a good TMNT Vs. Foot fight.

You still miss him? Last time I checked Shredder IS Krang (for all intents and purposes) in the new show. Evil Utrom (Urtomesque) warlord. Check. What's the difference?

I agree on all counts. I'd prefer to keep it urban. The fact remains anyway, that the best TMNT comic storylines are largely urban ones. But Peter Laird is involved, so Sci-Fi may be the course.

Is the movie a freah start or a sequel to ones from the 90`s? The ones from the 90`s were OK but they don`t need a sequel after so long.

I'm still wondering which aspects of the second film they are going to "acknowledge"? Because quite frankly: The second film sucked!
I'm glad to see that they are using the first film as canon though. The first one was great, and besides we don't need to see the TMNT origin story again.

Beingf a more objective fan here, I'd say only the sequences with Vanilla Ice and Tokka and Razor remotley "sucked", the remainder of the film was as close to a MIRAGE-influenced story as it could possibly be, thr Turtles' origins were also explored more closely, and we learned about TCRI.
The details that will be acknowledged are more than likly Professor Perry, the Mutagen, and The Shredders' demise as Super-Shredder

Why did they change TCRI for TMNT2? They called it TGRI.

Well, I liked the idea that they were going to discuss the origin of the mutagen; but when they completely backed away from the Mirage storlyine (no Utroms), threw in so much garbage (Tokka, Rahzar, Keno, Super Shredder, and Vanilla Ice), and took away some of the best elements of the first film (Casey Jones, TMNT weapon use, and serious tone) I have no other recourse but to say the film sucked. It promised but it clearly did not deliver. It's especially awful when compared to the first film.
If they do say in the new film: "Remember when we met Prof. Perry and found out about the mutagen..." and then go on to tell a completely different story than what happened in the second film; then I'd have to wonder why they even bothered referencing it? Because it's difficult to ignore 75% of a film while considering the other 25% canon. Why not just retell it in a different manner?
But either way, I'm sure the writers will weed out the crumby parts of the second film. I have a great deal of faith in Kevin Munroe based upon the interview that he gave at gamerz-edge.

TCRI stands for: Techno Cosmic Research Institute
TGRI stands for: Techno Geographic Reasearch Institute
The difference is that the TCRI dealt with space technology, since they were space aliens (Utroms). The TGRI people were never revealed to be Utroms so we are left to assume that they were human. They only dealt in terrestial issues.
