"It's not a tumor."
"Ziggy says if you want to return home, you need to work the shaft..."

... lots of good stuff, especially Cheetara.

So... wait... wouldn't Cobra Commander be the one to go BACK to being a Used Car Salesman? That is his origin, after all...

Destro as a used car dealer is especially funny since Cobra Commander was a used car salesman in the comics.

That whole last segment was pretty funny, in total.

Easily my favorite of the RC's, the "where are they now?" segment is friggin awesome. Also loved the Hillary Duff version of Anne Frank.

One thing though, how the hell can Robot Chicken use the original G1 transforming sound, but NOT Armada/Energon?

A rather weak showing this time around, but it did get better as it went along. The William Shatner thing went on for a little too long.

Favorite parts:
Tivo Monster
Quantam Leap parody
Shazam!
Holy @#%! Heaven
Hilary Duff as Anne Frank

Not bad. One of the better ones. Anne Frank was good, Shatner's hair went on a bit long but was okay, a few of the short skits made me laugh and the ending skit was the first time a "here's some old references" skit was actually good.

"SHAZAM!" *blows up*

The only part I really didn't like was the Shatner segment. Other than that, a good episode.

I woulda thought Destro could be a rap star. screw a platinum grill, dudes got a platinum dome! And the Baroness could be the first lady of his group, D-Unit. Or C-unit, since it would be composed of ex-Cobra members.

This episode and the one before it fell flat during large stretches. The athiest going to heaven segment looked like it was building up to something with the jokes about the hipocrispy (misspelled, I know), but instead abandoned that and went with the zombie route. It did look funny with him going "Hey guys...", but it was a weak ending to a segment that could've gone out with something big.

I liked the Shatner Topee segment, but it would've been funnier if it was all-out action like with the gun scene, instead of dragging in the last 30 seconds or so.

I also liked the Quantum Leap segment (he did leap into a few women on the show, but boy was that taking it to its next logical conclusion...as logical as it could be...), the Shazam segment, and the dark humor of the Tivo Monster and the Anne Frank movie, starring Hillary Duff.

Overall a few good parts, but I hope this and the last episode aren't the start of a rut of lackluster episodes.

The first RC where I laughed multiple times throughout the show. I especially loved the bit at the end with the Michael Moore mockumentary of what happend to the toys of yore (or at least my childhood). Reminded me of many an afternoon and Saturday morning of eighteen to twenty years ago (and I can't believe I can actually say that). Yes, it looks like Soundwave truely has a (RADIO EDIT) job.

The only thing tonight that I didn't like was the Hillary Duff Anne Frank flick promo. Just plain wrong to mock the memory of one young woman among SIX MILLION JEWISH PEOPLE (plus all the other "undesireables") Hitler wanted exterminated. Although, it did knock the Nazis down a peg or two...

So, I guess it was a good show overall.

The problem with reviewing a skit show is that you're not reviewing one big program, but a bunch of little ones. So one bad skit can throw off pacing while a good one can make it work.

That said, the big skits hit more often than missed. I'm going to give this one a 3.5/5.

Eh, not too spectacular. Some short ones had me laughing.

Long ones.... Shatner's hair was half and half for me. Moore documentary was eh. "Holy ****!" heaven was hilarious.

Oh, and let's not forget Hillary Duff as Anne Frank. I was cracking up during that pop song about the Nazis coming. Freaking classic.

I think the show just gets a little lazy with the short skits. The longer ones can be bad but usually they're ok. Shatner's hair was dumb and unfunny. Sometimes it really doesnt seem like they're trying. C'mon... a guy running out of toilet paper is not funny and a terrible way to start out a show. Overall this was a good episode though. I've called episodes terrible, and I've called episodes great. RC is a lot like TGTTM with how unconsistent it is.

Armada Overload had the G1 sound in his figure

Hasbro created new sounds for the new series because well...they're new, and therefore new sounds for everything.

I actually thought they were more mocking the Hillary Duff machine, and the entire "pop singer girl teen actress" industry. Think: if someone were to make a Hillary Duff movie about Anne Frank, what would it be like?

I don't believe they were mocking the memory of those who died in the Holocaust.

What I found interesting was that there were two Hitler/nazi references/jokes tonight.("I know, I'm surprised too!")

(note: I am Jewish... if that has any bearing here)

I didn't really like that one. It was just boring until the Anne Frank skit and then I just started to hate it, Michael Moore brought it back up but they screwed that part up in the end too..

It's a shame, two great episodes on Saturday. Two bad ones on Sunday. Way to go

The Shatner wig thing was lame. They should have made it a Tribble. (Or maybe it was????) The Hilary Duff as Anne Frank skit didn't make clear that it was mocking Duff, not the Holocaust, so that's also a miss. Otherwise, a hilarious episode. It's amazing how much RC packs into a quarter-hour. (^_*)

Why do they keep censoring "Jesus?!"
I don't know. They've been doing that since those two episodes of Futurama (The Deep South and Bender Gets Made) when they muted out the Professor saying Sweet (or Holy) Zombie Jesus. You gotta take it up with the Standards and Practices of Cartoon Network.

"It's not a tumor."

I actually didn't get that one. I assume the joke had something to do with what was on the X-ray. It went by too fast for me to see though. What was on it?

I noticed no one else mentioned the "I learned it from watching you!" sketch. I guess that reference is too old for many of you to remember. It was from an old public service announcement from the 80s. I actually saw this on a VH1 special just last week so this was fresh in my mind making it even funnier. The original ad had a father come into his son's room with a bag of marijuana he found and he starts badgering his son and asking him where he learned to do drugs. The son finally responds by screaming "You! All right! I learned it from watching you!" Then the announcer goes "Parents who do drugs have kids who do drugs."

It was the Governator, so it was taken from "Kindergarten Cop". In that movie, Arnie is rubbing his temple as a kid looks on:

kid: "What's wrong?"
Arnie:"I have a headache."
kid:"Are you sure? It could be a tumor."
Arnie:"It's not a tumor! It's not a tumor...at all!"

I thought the Hillary Duff spoof was great. Make no mistake, it was a HD spoof, and not an Anne Frank spoof. They were (IMO) trying to show how a story with great historical bearing could be sullied (aka DISNEY'ED) by having one of these wannabe pop-singer/actresses/flavors-of-the-month star in a movie about it.

EXACTLY. I didn't laugh very hard at the skit itself because it just seemed too... likely to happen. It was more like a "Dear god... Disney must be stopped." moment, because I can envision Disney actually doing this. Home Alone Nazi-busting and all.

Aside from that. Shatner's hair was... funny in concept, but not in execution. The Quantum Leap bits were good[especially because the toy used looked exactly like Scott Bakula]. The Heaven and TiVo skits didn't really do it for me.
Not a great RC episode, but good.

Well, Disney did make a Pocahontas and a Mulan movie so it's not like history is out of reach for Disney. They no longer limit themselves to adapting fictional stories anymore it seems. But, I would think that the Holocaust is too recent for them to do a movie. But, if Disney is still around in a hundred years then I'd bet they would make a movie about it. Of course, they'd give Ann Frank a talking dog or something...

It hit me a few hours after seeing RC on Sun.

Then it just hit me that I forgot to talk about it until now.

They showed HITLER.

HITLER!

Now WHY can't they show "To Be or Nazi Be?". ALTHOUGH, to contradict myself, I've heard AS may or may not even have it now after all this time due to saving money on an episode they wouldn't show, and of course even if they do have it, which they might (anyone know?), they might not show it anyway since the whole episode concerns Nazis. (And the 5:00 airing that may or may not have been planned before talk on internet killed it, unless it was just accidentally put up anyway on the grid, but the ep. numbering system was updated, so...I don't know.)

Not that it would in terms of shock value have anything on the Hilary Duff defeating the Nazis and "Just being myself" sketch..........................................

Robot Chicken gets away with more than any other Adult Swim show. They showed Teen Titans, brutally made fun of it, yet Williams Street can't air Aquaman and Friends because it portrays the Justice League negatively.

I believe that the problem with "To be or Nazi be" is that Pioneer didn't give it to them, or won't let them air it or summat like that.

And the last that I had heard was that they weren't going to air it, but it was ambiguous.
