Sunset
A tall man stands looking at the sunset in one of Tokyo’s various parks, as the cherry blossoms bloom. It is a cold day, but the last few rays from the sun warms the park so that it is not as cold as it would be otherwise. He is wearing wraparound shades, and seems not to care as a cold wind blows, buffeting his hair. Standing beside him is a small-sized woman, her black hair tied back. She leans closer to him, and he puts his arm around her, gently drawing her closer to him. She shivers slightly in the cold wind, and he removes his navy blue blazer, draping it around her shoulders. Although the wind chills him through the fabric of his white turtleneck, he stands there quietly with her, saying nothing, merely being by her side. As he holds her, she puts her right arm around his side, mimicking his earlier action, drawing him closer to herself.
The two of them continue standing there in companionable silence, both at peace with one another. Finally, the sun disappears beneath the horizon, and night begins to fall. The woman returns the blazer to her partner, and with silent thanks and a squeeze of his hand, they walk away arm in arm. As they leave the park, the woman looks up at him.
“Anata,” she says, in her quiet voice.
“Hmmn?” Her partner looks at her quizzically, his eyebrows furrowed. “Nan desu ka?”
“Kimi ga aishiteru, Reiji,” is her simple reply. Her partner looks at her, and removes his shades, looking into her eyes.
“Kimi ga aishiteru, Megumi,” he replies softly, looking into her eyes as she does the same, both of them saying nothing, and yet saying everything, as they continue on their journey.
Three little words that speak volumes, laden with meaning…
Kimi ga aishiteru…
I love you.

Author’s Note: I’ve always wanted to do a Reiji Kageyama/Megumi Kurogane fanfic, so here it is! Granted, it’s short, it probably doesn’t make any sense, but it sums up my feelings as to how Megumi and Kageyama should end up – in each other’s arms.
Okay, so it was short; This is my first try at romance and mushy stuff, so what did you expect? Anyhow, I’ve always been fascinated by Megumi’s relationship with Kageyama, and have always wanted to pair them off together… they make a cute couple, don’t you think ^_^ ?
