After the last few threads I was involved with. Is it me or is everywhere you go, we are beginning to lose our freedom of speech?
Looking at it, in the unfortunaley (to some extent) closed thread on Chine and Japan, yes, this thread was getting out of hand becuase of a certain somebody. We just can't seem to have a like or dislike for one place or thing over another. I say this because, these days if you dislike a country ot two you are seen a racist. For instance, I don't like France or the people there or they're cars, or (much of) they'e food. Am I racist? No, I don't mind other countries, I have my reason of dislike because, they way the majority treat my own country, why should they get away with slagging of Great Britain, or any other country for that matter. Okay maybe a few french people maybe alright, but my point is, do we have to like every country, every kind of food, every animal or every car or everything else in the world.
These days we (the whole public) can't even make one comment wihtut someone compalining. Is it right? No. We have our right to dislike and like anything.
It's like my own country is a nighmare, I find it an insult that people have a problem if you put the St Georges flag (England flag), St Andrews (Scottish flag), Wesh flag, Irish flag or vene the Union Jack on your on house or on a public building. I remeber my brother telling me that a friend of his (who is in London) was telling my brother that some foreigners saw England flags outside houses on a whole street and they thought it was the BNP (British National Party - a political party who is infamous for being extremely racist), but it was a for a football (soccer in the US) match. Every other country can put thier flags outise thier homes or public buildings, why can't we? i can go on but I won't.
I guess I started this thread becuase the China and Japan one I started REALLY got me thinking.
So do you think we as individuals are losing our freedom, that we can't say anything without masses of complaints?
Last note, any personal or any form of blasting, please PM me, I wish for this to stay on topic, and not a slagging off match. This is my little rule, hence I named it Forthmaestros Rule. ('till I think of a better name)
