Ok, I think the title is pretty explanatory. I'm sure all of us have had a dream where it's going great.. then POOF you wake up. Is there a reason behind this? Or does our subconscious just like torturing us?

I wondered that this morning! I had a dream about a Smallville movie (which I posted about on the Superman, Batman and Beyond board) and the dream ended at a dramatic part when the JLA members were all supposed to appear out of this billowing cloud of destruction. I knew it was gonna be cool, but the dream was over. :(

I think it has somthing to do with the fact that you're subconscious is getting all excited, and the excitement is too strong for it, so it takes over the rest of your body and POOF...your eyes fly open, allowing the dream to float away...

Also, you are much more likely to remember a dream if you wake up in the middle of it. So, even if you had your JLA dream finish, then you would be much more likely to forget that you even had the dream.
So, one way you remember part of the dream but don't get to know the ending, and the other way you never know that the dream existed in the first place.
