What the subject line says...what nicknames have various superheroes been given over the years?
Guess I can start with a few:
Superman:
- The Man of Steel
- The Man of Tomorrow
- The Last Son of Krypton
- The Action Ace (mostly a 70's nickname)
- Big Blue
- Supes
Batman:
- The Dark Knight
- The Dark Knight Detective (seen in a few stories)
- The Caped Crusader
- The Dynamic Duo (when with Robin)
- The Gotham Goliath (saw it in a few 50's stories)
- The Detective (guess Ra's nickname)
- Bats
- The Masked Manhunter (mostly in 60's and 70's stories it seems; I liked this one...)
The Joker:
- The Clown Prince of Crime
- The Harlequin of Hate
Flash:
- The Sultan of Speed (mostly Barry)
- The Scarlet Speedster
Wonder Woman:
- The Amazing Amazon
Metallo
- "The Man With the Kryptonite Heart" (in Silver Age stories)
J'onn J'onzz:
- The Martian Manhunter
- Manhunter From Mars (in Silver Age stories)
Superboy:
- The Boy of Steel
- The Boy of Tomorrow (in 40's and 50's Superboy stories)
Spider-Man:
- Spidey
- Webhead

- The Last Son of Krypton
- The Action Ace (mostly a 70's nickname)
- Big Blue
- Supes
I believe that Superman has been called a Boyscout and variations of Boyscout, I think 'World's Biggest Boyscout' has been used a few times.
With Batman you missed the best nickname, World's Greatest Detective and the very common "The Bat".

Spider-Man is also called the Wallcrawler.
You missed one for Flash. The Fastest Man Alive.

Well, Captian Marvel (Shazam) goes by the Big Red Cheese. Captain American, sometimes is called Cap or America. Oh how could I forget, Aquaman is called The King Of The Seven Seas.

Captain America's most popular nickname is, of course, Cap, but I've also heard the "Star-Spangled Avenger" used a few times. The Thing has been known to call Reed Richards "stretcho". Wolverine is occasionally referred to as the "Canucklehead".
I'm pretty sure the Hulk is sometimes called the Green Goliath. Green Arrow, of course, is often called the Emerald Archer. Hawkeye is sometimes "Marksman Extraordinaire". She-Hulk is "Shulkie". Iron Man is "Shellhead".
Dr. Strange is the "Sorceror Supreme", while Captain Marvel is "The Big Red Cheese". And, notably, there's my favorite: "The Man Without Fear", which is of course Daredevil.

Well, wasn't trying to be *completely* exhaustive (to allow for conversation and all), but guess I'll throw in some more then :-)
Flash:
Yeah, "Fastest Man Alive" is one.
Green Lantern:
I've seen "Emerald Crusader" and "GL"
Green Arrow:
Ollie (what his friends call him, vs. the formal "Oliver Queen")
Daredevil:
I've seen him called "Ol' Hornhead" (or just plain "Hornhead")
Aquaman:
The Sea King
Justice League:
"The World's Greatest Superheroes" (though guess the Avengers must've been called that at some point, too...but since they're on seperate Earths, they *both* can have that nickname :-) )
Hourman:
The "Man of the Hour" (pun-ny, but guess accurate :-) )
Rex "Tick-Tock" Tyler
Chronos:
The "Tick-Tock" Terror (seen this used once in that "Silver Age" crossover storyline in DC's books a few years ago)
Mr. Mxyzptlk:
The "Fifth Dimension's #1 Imp" (was called this a few times in the 70's/80's, though usually just by Mxy *himself*...)
"Mxy"
Batgirl:
Think she had a nickname by herself; teamed up with Robin in various 70's stories, they were the "Dynamite Duo"

Green Arrow: I read something that referred to him as the Emerald Archer.
I remember. I was looking up info on Speedy (Mia Dearden) at titanstower.net, and there was a ref to Ollie under that nickname.

Howdy,
I think Wonder Woman has been nicknamed the Princess of Power.
Supergirl was called the Girl of Steel or the Maid of Might a lot of times.
Nightcrawler of the X-Men is sometimes called "elf," or "fuzzy elf." Storm's been called the Weather Witch by the bad guys on occasion, too. Gambit's been called the Cajun.
The Tick is sometimes called "Mighty Blue Justice" :).
Thor has a small ton of nicknames or alternate titles, most of which derive from the Norse myths. God of Thunder/Thunder God, the Thunderer, and Son of Odin come to mind.

Justice League:
"The World's Greatest Superheroes" (though guess the Avengers must've been called that at some point, too...but since they're on seperate Earths, they *both* can have that nickname :-) )
The JLA is usually "The World's Greatest Superheroes" while the Avengers are "Earth's Mightiest Heroes".
Thor has a small ton of nicknames or alternate titles, most of which derive from the Norse myths. God of Thunder/Thunder God, the Thunderer, and Son of Odin come to mind.
Not to mention "Lord of the Living Lightning". And to throw in Hercules, "The Son of Zeus", "The Lion of Olympus".
Just a few off the top of my head...
Magneto - The Master of Magnetism
Sub-Mariner - The Avenging Son
Superboy - The Kid (does he still even go by that?)
She-Hulk - The Jade Giantess
Black Canary - The Blonde Bombshell

Wolverine - Wolvie
