Okay, my school has just done a big stupid decision that it's famous for. They've cancelled a promised trip to France for my French class.

For years the school has been talking how grandly this trip would be. Then you know what happend? They cancell it and we finally hear of it.

Cancelled it because of a war, they say. Frankly, even with the war, Europe is a very safe place for Americans to be. Secondly, it seems that the French are actually suffering a bit in the tourism bit 'cause of lack of American business.

I would like to remind you that in the Gulf War, the 1993 Okla. City bombing, the trips for the French class still went on. And these were just as serious as Sept. 11.

The school's already spent the trip money already, though. Probably on another project students aren't really gonna be allowed/want to use. The school is secretly well-known for spending money on its self-image more than anything else; students there are MISERABLE.

I guess I'm gonna be told how it's best all Americans stay here, and how I may be banned for a vent worthless to the MB. But I need to let out steam.

Geez...the only reason I took French was to go on this trip... :(

Yeah. My class was scheduled to go on a trip to Israel last year, but no one wanted their kids to go. That's the way life is. And life isn't fair. See, it all works out!

That's tough. Maybe if some of you kids debate it and even get your parents to agree, you might be able to convince the school. When is the trip supposed to be, over Spring Break in March?

I don't see any reason why this trip is dangerous at all. This is just plain dumb.

That sucks BB, fear of the war is a pretty bogus excuse if you ask me. If anything airline security has never been safer. And if a country's going to get attack it'll be the US not France.

*lol* France is full of terrorists now. In fact Osama's holiday residence is near the Eiffel Tower. :p

Your school's excuse is ridiculous (western) Europe is as safe as America.

Yeah, that really sucks to hear, Buffoon. I've never gone to France on the annual school trip because i don't have the money. But your situation just sounds worse. Sorry...

SAID BY JOE TULLY: That's tough. Maybe if some of you kids debate it and even get your parents to agree, you might be able to convince the school. When is the trip supposed to be, over Spring Break in March?

Heh....kids getting a voice in our school government is as likely as Afghanistan suddenly becoming a world power...(sorry, still venting anger)...also, our parents aren't really talking about this; as said before, the school spent the money already (before telling anyone). So it'd be worthless. It was suppose to be around Feburary.

Oh, our school has virtually banned the computer lab in a big, expensive, WORTHLESS library (you need a teacher with you in the lab at ALL times, and there are none who are gonna stick around at ALL). The already empty, non-used library is officially worthless now...(and they haven't bought a new book in YEARS). Another tidbit I need to vent on.

Wanna see the school page? I'll post it if y'all want. But looks are decieving.

In my elementary school, every year the 6th grade class would have a whale watch. We would all go to Connecticut for the weekend to see the beautiful creatures. When I finally made it to 6th grade they canceled it. Insead we went to an animal sancuary which was pretty good itself.

Nah man, you would'nt want to go to France anyway. It's full of poofy pant French men. :D Just kiddin'. I would love to go to France. Maybe even me the girl of my dreams there. It is the country of love you know. ;)

You too!? The very same thing happened to the French class a friend of mine is taking. But my school said that they we going to let the French class use the money on something else.

God! Your school sounds like it sucks big time, I used to be in a school that was just like that when I was in the 4th and part of the 5th grade.

But anyway, that really sucks.

Aww, I'm really sorry BB, that really sucks. I kinda know how you feel. My singing group was supposed to take a trip to Nashville in the spring but my stupid school doesn't even want us to go outta state! What the heck is wrong with Nashville!?!?

My Latin class is also planning a trip to Rome this summer which may be cancelled, but we haven't had any word on it yet...

Anyway, I'm really sorry that your French trip got cancelled. :(

My class was supposed to go to New York and Washington in 7th grade. We didn't raise enough money. But, trying to keep their hopes up, they said, "Well, guess what! We're gonna go next year!"

Heh-heh. In case you are wondering, they KNEW that I was gonna be moving in the summer. :D

Our school cancelled all senior trips, because of an incident a few years ago when they were in Florida. Believe me, when we found that out, we were pretty  . I don't think they'll ever have one again :( .
