I love Webcomics to death, so, I was just kind of wondering: What webcomics would you like to see as a animated TV series?
I think It's Walky! by David Willis would make a good one (even if it's main run has ended). The format and the story telling just seem like they would fit animation rather well to me. Action and comedy: can't go wrong with that! (well...you COULD but...)
Megatokyo could make a great anime, if only because of how anime inspired it is.
Personally I wish there was a cartoon of Ozy and Millie by David Craig Simpson. I'm not so sure if it's brand of humor and style of story telling could work as a cartoon, but...well, it's my favorite comic, and I want to be selfish
Any other suggestions?:zim:
Penny Arcade.
And make a Cardboard Tube Samurai arc, that would rule.

I'm still pushin' for "Yenny" by David Alvarez.

Out of all the webcomics I read, my vote would go to 'The Wotch' (http://www.thewotch.com/?epDate=2002-11-21). Its fantastic, the characters are already lively cartoony charicatures, and its one of the few G-rates strips I know of, so it would go well on American television. It also already has set itself up into both an episodic and sagatic story-based format, so it could prolly jump right into animated translation with ease, needing but a few new filler episodes and storylines.
Seconded for Its Walky! (http://www.itswalky.com/), and a few more votes to Melonpool (http://www.melonpool.com/), Captain SNES (http://www.captainsnes.com/), and Girly (http://www.go-girly.com/).
There are a few webcomics I don't think could be padded out into a series, but would make great movies. Kid Radd (http://www.kidradd.com/), RPG World (http://www.rpgworldcomic.com/), Caution Man (http://www.bwish.com/Comics/CautionMan/)and Marilith (http://www.marilith.com/calendar.php).

Well, I know one webcomic in particular called "Goodbye, Cruel World". It focuses on the wacky misadventures between two lemmings named Noel and Leon. I'll link you to the site it's on.

Sluggy Freelance is the perfect comic to cartoon conversion. Out of all the webcomics that I read, it's the only one with a plot and characters can could support a animated series.

White Ninja wouldn't sustain a whole series, but it'd work as part of some kind of sketch show.

I'd kill to see Bonus Stage or High score on TV one of these days. (I know, webcartoons =/= comics but....)
oh, and the TV needs Foamy,
that is all.

Mine.
I see them in my head animated before they ever get drawn as still frames. And having an animated series before I die would be nice.

The only webcomics I like are Penny Arcade, VGCats, and Perry Bible Fellowship, and a Rejected/Robot Chicken-esque format for PBF is the only one I can imagine that wouldn't differentiate from the strip as much.

Let's see...
Bleedman's PPG Doujinshi.
Second, 10k Commotion (http://www.10kcommotion.com). It would be nice to see this in animation. Unfortunately it's audience would consist of mostly DDR players, though.
Then, there are these two webcomics: Red String (http://redstring.strawberrycomics.com/) and TV Circuit (http://www.rivalpro.net/~daproductions/tvcircuit/). Both are pretty good.
And then, there's this comic called Directions of Destiny (http://www.directionsofdestiny.com/).
Well, the latter 3 may be good as anime since....it's IN the anime form. Also 10K.

It's Walky! might work. Would Roomies! be included? What about Shortpacked?
Mega Tokyo is already copying alot of anime which did the same plots before them and better *ducks*

Do you think you could include Roomies! with an It's Walky! animated series? Granted, Walky does kind of need the Roomies! backstory, but the two strips have slightly different formats. Would people watch something that's straight comedy, and then suddenly becomes comedy and action?
Shortpacked is a spin off comic, so couldn't it be a spin off TV series? Of course, then you'd have the reverse of above, comedy/action becoming just comedy....Willis made this complicated.
For tests in school it's called "copying." For entertainment media, it's called "homage." :p

Maybe start with It's Walky!, then if that's a success introduce Roomies! as a prequel spin-off. Then once both are done, introduce Shortpacked as a webcomic continuation.
As for Mega Tokyo- you, sir/miss, are a nut.

Van Von Hunter (http://www.vanvonhunter.com)
I can't get enough of this series. It needs to be made into an anime! Vengeance Joe rules! :D
Alpha Shade (http://www.alphashade.com)
Very dramatic wartime webcomic. The trailer alone proves it has the potential! ;)

You're joking, right? Not in the least - It does have some unusual themes that have become prevalent in the greater latter half of the series, but it still remains a clean and fun story on the whole, and growing slightly more epic with each story arc.
I'd kill to see Bonus Stage or High score on TV one of these days. (I know, webcartoons =/= comics but....)
oh, and the TV needs Foamy, Mmmm, Foamy... If we're going out on an edge and including all internet-based media, then I also vote for Homestar Runner (naturally), Happy Tree Friends, and more from SamBakZa and his characters.
On Its Walky!, I can see it starting in media res, with just a few flashbacks or so to cover the early history of the Roomies! clan.
And Dark Fact, I'm checking out Alpha Shade now and it looks fantastic! I recall seeing some pages shown on the DB sometime back, and its great to see it all together.

I like this rule:
Whatever happens on the internet, stays on the internet. Because if something originated on the internet and was moved to another form of media, it sucks and makes the world more stupid.
This is also why Fox News stopped taking Bloggers as a serious news source

Coming this fall, the prequel to the Popular It's Walky, a show about life, death, and college...Roomies: Walky Begins
You sir/miss/droid, probably just have beef with Fred's shots at England :p

If he wants to believe our food is lousy, that's his own loss. I'll take fish fingers and chips or a bowl of stovies over burger and fries anyday.
Regardless, I stick by my point. If Mega Tokyo could be more original then maybe it'd deserve a chance at animation. As is, others have done the ideas better.

Sorry, after shows like Love Hina, Happy Lesson, etc. I didn't think you had to be original to get an animated show :D

But Happy Tree Friends IS on TV. oo;
Hmm, most of the webcomics I like wouldn't really work as anything but comics. I think RPGWorld would work really well, though. And potentially Sluggy Freelance. Maybe Zebra Girl also.

I partially agree with Gigan in that most forms of entertainment are best served on their original media, but there are exceptions if done right. And its just fun to imagine favorite webcomics in new ways.

'Homestar Runner', definitely. With 'Girl Squad' included.

I, too, prefer fish & chips over all but the highest-quality hamburgers.
But I've never even heard of stovies. What are those?

I can't see Homestar Runner running in half-hour syndication. Half-minute commercials maybe, but not half-hour shows.

Sorry, after shows like Love Hina, Happy Lesson, etc. I didn't think you had to be original to get an animated show :D Well, any chance they had of getting me back as a reader is now low. The obnoxious 'dom' just posted a non too polite rant against G Gundam. When someone who works on that comic can mock a story which actually has an air of originality...

But I've never even heard of stovies. What are those? Stovies are a mix of potatoes, onions and gravy, served in a bowl. I get the feeling I'm forgetting an ingredient....My nan was an expert at cooking stovies.

If the spuds are cut into thin slices, that's the dish we call 'scalloped potatoes.' (Don't ask me why; they haven't got a thing to do with seafood.)

I haven't read Van Von Hunter but I have to agree that the Alpha Shade webcomic would be an awesomely good anime. It's got flying battleships, literal warbirds, politcal intrigue, babes and hunks, parallel worlds, psychic sentient cats, armed conflict, great art and so much more. The story is still being written, though the first volume taken by itself could be a great anime movie. The Alpha Shade site is well worth a look. (^_*)

What? I mean, it's on hiatus, but sure someone should mention Commander Kitty! I think the two biggest things it has going for it are a great art style commutative to animation, and a creator with animation experience/connections. Now if only it will come back online...
