View Full Version : Discovery Kids wins bid for NBC Sat. mornings

Hollywood Reporter reports that NBC has announced the winning bid for the lease of their Saturday morning block of shows (previously TeenNBC).

The winner is Discovery Kids, who will be paying $18 million divided into a three-year deal, for the hours of 9 AM through 12 PM.

Beginning next fall, the block will be composed of various shows from the Discovery Kids channel (and a block itself on the original Discovery Channel).

Discovery beat out other companies, such as Nickelodeon, Disney, Warner Brothers, and Sony. These same networks are still competing for the FOX Kids Saturday morning lineup, and, though FOX has not revealed a front-runner, they are now very close to working out a deal, and should announce the result soon.
