With DPS Film Roman, Mainframe, Magna Entertainment (out of curiousity, are any of their productions family material?), Stan Lee's POWS!, Anchor Bay, and more is IDT Entertainment serious competition for animation?

Yes.
Yes they are. Although it'll take time, IDT Entertainment is looking at animation from all angles, from family-friendly projects like the faith-based projects the studio's doing for CBN, Archie Comics-inspired projects, and numerous kid-friendly projects from Mainframe (Canadian-based, US-owned), Film Roman (Film Roman still animates numerous shows for the studio) and Vanguard Animation to teen and adult oriented fare like projects from Stan Lee's POW! Entertainment as well as Todd McFarlane's Spawn, Tripping The Rift, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, not to mention a pair of distribution companies like Manga Entertainment (yeah, they do have a few family-friendly titles, but I can't think of them at this time) and Anchor Bay.
IDT Entertainment is making animation a true global entertainment medium from traditional 2D animation from the US and Japan to 3D animation from all over the globe.
And no, I don't work for them. I'm just a media observer who realizes that they're definitely doing something right.

I would really like to see a network in the works. As Jeff said IDT is doing several things right.
