Sorry to hear your prom was bad Tenku. At least you look quite ravishing at it. :)

Old Rag! Sweet. I've been up there. Great great great views.

Karl..........I so want that poster. *shakes fist*

Yeah it was bad...because it had no food. And I like food. Supposedly you had to eat before or after the prom at some fancy restaurant. Me? I had McDonalds! :D

Plus, that's pretty much the only time you'll see me in a dress. I've got a bit of a tomboy streak in me since I wear loose jeans and whatnot. That, and I'm a total nerd. :p

But yes, I looked pretty. :)

What would I have to do to get those from the Funi people at Anime Boston?

Yeah Zach, you're GF probably will kill ya for that. You know us single types around here don't know when to back off.:p Seriously though, ncie pics.

Tenkou, you're hanging around an animation fandom site. That's almost a qualifier for tomboy in and of itself.;)

What would I have to do to get those from the Funi people at Anime Boston?

It'll be Kodocha's brand manager at Anime Boston, not Gunslinger's (and she's the one with rare GSG hook ups; case in point - she's got a lead on some Henrietta pinky figurines which btw will never be mass-produced, though not for lack of trying on Funi's part, so she's pretty hardcore fan with great connections) and besides, those aren't the posters funi's been giving out at cons. They are giving out some very, very nice posters at their table including a Gunslinger one, or atleast they were giving them out at Sakuracon. But those DVD/Game posters are imports. Very nice imports (look around online, they are cheap and readily available.) :D

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/karlolson/gunslingerposter.jpg

^the other poster. I'm gonna straighten it eventually.

Weatherman
04-20-2005, 01:34 PM
Guess I'll either have to order it online or hope GSG's manager is at Otakon. One the plus side, maybe I can score some Kodocha stuff, heheheh.:D

well, the posters were ebay finds (in fact, there are still some in stock: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7506510998)

As far as coin figures/trading figures/gachapon were concerned, the GSG rep recommended www.asylumanime.com. 25 bucks for a complete set, which is pretty good considering how nice the figures are.

As far as Henrietta pinky figures are concerned, the GSG rep isn't the only fan of pinkys at Funi, so I've got a feeling that barring maybe holding one for a cosplay contest, she isn't gonna make the few she got available for sale. I doubt she'll interested in revealing her source on those either.

I attended an art show a few weeks ago, and had a good deal of fun, and there were some fantastic paintings, sculptures, installation pieces, and performance pieces. Here are some pics from that day.

deviantART: F-N-C-B-Outfit by ~Haripouna (http://www.deviantart.com/view/17584514/) I got complimented a lot on this outfit. I guess people were unused to seeing me done up. Being an art major, my clothes are usually stained or covered in clay or paint, and consists mainly of jeans and stuff. The boots I wore with it (not pictured) were cool too.

deviantART: Art majors with Jesus Bunny by ~Haripouna (http://www.deviantart.com/view/17585742/)a really neat performance piece at the show. she stood crucified on that charcoal cross for about an hour. She was trying to make a statement on the origins of Easter/Oestara, and blended Christian and Pagan symbolism together to achieve a nice effect, I think.

Alex, you look absolutely stunning! How you always manage to look so dramatic makes me insanely jealous.

And while I wasn't sure how I'd take the Jesus Bunny piece, part of me does find it rather telling of how our society has corrupted so many religious holidays to nothing more than consumer events.

*blush* Well, the angle of the camera, and the eye makeup help with the drama. Anyhow, what on Earth are you talking about? ...Jealous... You're the pretty one, what with your lively, glittering eyes, your beaming smile, and the cutest little button nose. On top of that, you exude a genuine sweetness that can (and does) make everyone love you. You're like Orpheus, whose songs charmed wild beasts, rocks, rivers, trees, even the very air on which his music danced. You do this with your words and your light. With the personality and attitudes you project. These aren't things to which I can profess. Trust me, you've nothing to be jealous of, Kitten. :) *hugs*

O'h I'm not putting myself down. I'm rather satisfied with my appearance in general. I'm no supermodel, but after spending much birthday suit time in the mirror (for a nude self portrait I'm doing for my drawing final) I must say that despite being somewhat squishy and pasty, I've got some pretty decent bone structure. Makes for a nice hourglass. I'm just saying that Guin's a cutie and a total sweetheart, and has no reason to be jealous.

*bows* Thanks for the compliments everyone.

Mek. I love that pic of you. You're positively regal.:D That pic's reminescent of a royal portrait painting, or a Goddess enthroned. As always, the pugs are absobloodylutely adorable.

I don't think I have made any indication that I could be older than 18 (I even said I was 18 a couple of times around my birthday). The only thing I can think of that could throw someone off would be my location, and that's not a complete lie (I'm going to UVA starting in the fall). How about another pic?

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/SMMalex16/threepimps.jpg

Here's a funny story. The one who took this picture was the guy on the right's girlfriend. She was wearing a dress that fairytale princess would wear. You should see how frustrated he looked while dancing with her. He was constantly crying out "I CAN'T FEEL ANYTHING!" It was hilarious!

Oh and thanks for the compliments. :D

alex
05-10-2005, 03:30 AM
Awww, your prom pics are so cute. I love your tux, and the girl at your side is just stunning.:)

Kudos to the guy on the right's girlfriend for her dress (Not that I'm into fairy tale princess dresses. I much prefer flowing lines to big and pouffy). Perhaps him not being able to feel anything was part of the appeal behind it (I'm assuming you meant that he couldn't feel her form beneath the dress). Boys are such great fun to tease and play with. There's nothing quite like being the ungettable get, the one someone, or a few someones want so badly they can just taste your lips on thiers. It's also fun to watch guys squirm and sweat. :D A few well chosen words delivered just right are all you need.

Am I evil? Absobloodylutely.

Been a while since I posted one of these up... anyway, last weekend I went to my old friend's crib for a party. Been almost a decade since I seen him and the last time he and I hung out on a regular basis I was like..... 14-15 or so.

I met him one cold winter and followed him on his paper route like a little brother. We fast became friends and I helped him on his paper route.

We'd end the cold day with genuine malts and dinner at a place called Pop's.

Forgive the dorky poses..

I thought people would notice I'm a girl because I have "She's almost back to normal!" as my title, along with Haruko as my avvie (and even "It's Not Easy Being A Pimpette". Some just can't take a hint.
Yeah, you're telling me - this is why I'll never be a detective. Then again, you could've just been referring to the girl in your avatar. :p Other people have been tricky here before! But it's been ingrained into my brain now. (TENKU = GIRL).

The Chick Magnet returns!! And I'm talking to YOU, John. :) But, I think you have competition in the likes of Malek. OH NO!!

:D

Common Misspelling'd

Anyways, that has to be one of the biggest compliments I received in TZ so far. JC is still the P.I.M.P. of TZ, though. I can take Jr. P.I.M.P. :D

Everyone in Toon Zone looks great.

Sailor Chibi Otaku, you look adorable clinging to that signed photo of that guy (I remember the actor by face, not by name.)

Weatherman, Tales of Symphonia rocks and so do you in that outfit.

To0n~g@l, you look so cool even though you got that car next to you. Just Kidding, the car is nice.

Tenku, marry me. You have to be one of the most beautiful young women I have ever met. The girl in my pic means nothing to me (She has a boyfriend and we will never go beyond the "friends" relationship.) You don't have to answer right away. I'm just awestruck. I'm gonna now. -poof-

That is nerdcore. :D I'm also glad to see that costume held up and is getting use. I'd have to imagine it's much more comfortable at spring or winter con than at a summer con as well. Seriously though, awesome picture.

Meanwhile. No new pics from me, cause I've got a big ol' deep tissue blemish I'd rather not bother photoshopping out, and outside ofposing with my Gunslinger Girl banner or my latest doujinshi aquisitions (never did take a picture of the Koge Donbo Harry Potter doujinshi I scored at SakuraCon,) I've got very little reason to take a picture.

I feel the love, og yes I do. Thanks all. Yeah, the costume's much more cofortable in winter/spring then in summer. My mom also did alot of work on the buttons. Next time I have to rememebr to wear a red shirt underneath it. And sorry Kurt, I haven't been in Wisconsin of late.

Huh? I just hate spelling mistakes and if you're surrounded by the ladies, you're a Chick Magnet in my book. That's why I got my boyfriend (not in the romantic sense) a Chick Magnet t-shirt. :D

In fact, if I could afford it, I'd get all the guys on here a Chick Magnet t-shirt!! :D Except for JC. Why? Because he already has one. :) Mind you, there was no lady in that picture you just posted up. That's not a good sign!! :(

The plot of the movie I starred in is that the apartment complex where my wife and I live is being overrun by child actors, who are actually aliens in disguise. And basically the parents of these "child actors" revert to child phases while the children act like adults (talking on cell phones, driving cars, benchpressing, stuff like that). I also edited the film.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v302/emmy24786/Horse%20Stuff/My%20White%20Fox%20Pics/WFandMelookingdownpretty.jpg

After work today I took a trip to the backside to go visit The White Fox. He's one of only 17 true white Thoroughbreds registered with the National Thoroughbred Racing Association's Jockey Club. He's the 3 year old son of Patchen Beauty, one of the only white Thoroughbreds to EVER win a race. She won two in her racing career. Horrible record when comparing it to regular Thoroughbreds but it's quite phenomonal when you consider she's one of the only one's to ever do it.

They're now compensating her minimal racing success by breeding her to champion stallions. Whitey here is by Pioneering. Another quite astonishing thing about his very famous mom is that with white Thoroughbreds in the past, they might give birth to a partially white foal or a white foal once a decade. With the birth of The White Prince just a month or so ago, this horse's half brother, she's produced THREE CONSECUTIVE white foals.

Jeepers creepers, get busy, disappear for a couple of days, and this thread gets inundated with awesome pictures!

To those who I forget to comment on, forgive me, I'm old. But great pics, Tenku, Slade, Malex, NN (I am in love with that giant Pikachu!), Pressure Cooker, Javeman, Cruz and JC (the show does nothing for me, but I love the pic of Coop & Jamie).

Andrea, I can't even put into words how beautiful those pictures are. The lighting is absolutely superb, to say nothing of The White Fox. Did you use any filters? The pictures are so amazingly soft in their focus, that it just feels like a filter was used, but knowing you, I'm guessing it's just your talent.

To add a couple of my own... here's a pic of Smoore, her teddy bear and I from a month or so ago. I like this pic, even if we look as tired as we felt, and it's so close you can see skin problems.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/guinaevere/photos/041205.jpg

And here's one taken last night at Mom's 60th Birthday Bash. I call it, Jaelie and I can do a John Crichton pose, too.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/guinaevere/photos/51805.jpg

What's hilarious about this, is that we're goofing around, pretending to be all cool, and we're so obviously in Moms section of the home, what with that old guy looking over us... I think he's praying for us to turn from our crazy ways.

From Earth

There was a show of student art work at my school a few weeks ago, and I got the pics from it developed. It was a truly amazing spectacle, full of brilliant ceramic pieces (but none of mine *sniff*) and stunning 2D works. I can't really show many pics from inside the show, because this is a family site, and some of the pics pushed the envelope, and were a little controversial.

This is the poster that was used to advertise the show, which was called: From Earth. The poster kinda downplayed the 2D work, giving us second billing. I guess because all the ceramics being showcased were by award winning students, and not all of the 2D artists were award winners, which includes me. Heck, I've not even entered a competition before (except DBI). I suppose I really should start though, because some of my scholarship applications are asking for accomplishments, and I heally don't have any.
deviantART: From Earth Poster by ~Haripouna (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/18504978/)

The Face
This was the face in front of the gallery that greeted us. It was made by Aaron, a classmate of mine. He worked from his own face to make it.

AAaaaaand here's a closeup of our friend, the face.
deviantART: Face up close by ~Haripouna (http://www.deviantart.com/view/18506252/)

The Outfit

For the show, I kinda wanted a look that said, "I've just not been the same since that house got dropped on my sister." To achieve that, I bound my torso in 10 yards of sheer black ribbon, which was awfully fun. I completed my outfit with my harlot boots. I LOVE those boots. They go a good six or seven inches past my knee. Not quite Catwoman boots (especially since these have heels, and no claws *pout*), but I can still tuck things in them for safe keeping, just not a bullwhip. ;) These pics are kinda bad, though.
deviantART: Posin' by ~Haripouna (http://www.deviantart.com/view/18505283/)

The pose for this one is supposed to mirror that of the winged figure in the piece behind me. I'm standing in front of my work. I submitted four pieces. Those of you who have been to the DB may recogniize the Lunar Eclipse piece behind me.

Well thanks for the compliments Guin, Kitten.:) As for smacking me, there would be two possible outcomes for that. The first, and most likely, is that I would look at you sadly, and say that I was sorry that you felt the need to do that. :crying:
The second, is that I'd retaliate, which would be a lose-lose situation for me. If you were to beat me up (which would be the most probable end to a match between us, because my physical strength and prowess are rather lacking, and you're bigger than me by about, three inches, yes?) I'd be understandably wracked with pain. If I were to win I'd be loathed by the general Toon Zone populace for damaging it's sweetheart. There's that and, some of the Toon Zone members, specifically those of the Y chromosome set, would enjoy a Toon Zone catfight a bit too much.
Then again, that could be an opportunity for us. We could fake it all, like in professional wrestling, sell tickets, and make a killing. You'd be the grand Heroine, adored by all, and I'd be the vilainess that everyone loves to hate. Should I get to work designing our costumes?:D

I really have no clue what you meant by the egg comment, though, but I'll be seeing Aaron on Tuesday. We and some other student/staff are working to pull together a big event. A fair or party of sorts with lots of games and stuff, and you're all invited.:D The financial aid office is the one pulling it together, which is how I got involved, 'cause I work there. I'd be more convinced of the non-posing:

1. That was a different Penny Arcade shirt. The Jesus shirt would demonstrate a lack of poserness. Ditto for Hotsteppers and Obsidian Spur. :D

2. You were ever on xbox live so I could take you on in Halo 2. If you didn't stand around in dynamic poses but instead brought the rain that may also infact bring the pain, I would be convinced that you are truely *cue giant robot theme music with lots of orchestral elements* TRUELY HOTBLOODED!

got some cool pictures from me and my friends' road trip to canada to bungee jump.

bungee jumping is sooo amazing. you should ALL do it!

Great Canadian Bungee in Ottowa, Canada..

drove nine hours to get up there but definitely worth it.

North America's highest jump site. 200 foot dive, then a 160 foot recoil.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v221/marny328/1b.jpg

the waiver that we all had to sign in order to jump.. of course, Great Canadian Bungee is not liable for ANYTHING. even in the event of death.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v221/marny328/3.jpg

group photo (11 people, one minivan, one Oldsmobile).. i am the one all the way to the right, crouching.

all the girls jumped.. but only 2 guys, with me being one of them. we got the group discount!! w00t!

My friend Meg who took me to her cabin this weekend, showed me the joy of sending pics by email. So here is two really nice pics of me and her on her dads raft from this weekend. Yes it was a rafting trip and yes the water was cold, 50 degrees to be exact

This first one here is a pic of me and her trying to fix one side of the raft after it started to loose air, needless to say, it did not seem to work and so we rode into Salida halfway in the river. sorry they are so small tried to resize them.

Knux, you rock! Those pictures pwn!

Nightflower, it's great to see you back around the zone. And I love the very beat/bohemian feel to your party pictures. :D

Pressure Cooker, great pictures!

cheungcheung, I'm jealous. I want to bungee jump someday.

Weatherman, I have one thing to say to that first picture. "there's a man outstanding in his field" Get it? :sighs: Sorry, bad pun.

And TG, you're rafting?! Dang. The life I lead feels so routine seeing y'alls pics...

Ruskafin, you, your friends and your lady friend look terrific!

Mr Tyner, I bet it's difficult to use chopsticks in a hold like that.

Wow, I didn't know they had a bungee jump outside Ottawa; out here in BC we have one where it's tradition to get married naked whilst taking the plunge. You say that like it's unusual to get married with clothes on and on solid ground... :p

You be correct. So, ever cosplayed as TR? I have never cosplayed. I have no clothes-making skills.

As for smacking me, there would be two possible outcomes for that. The first, and most likely, is that I would look at you sadly, and say that I was sorry that you felt the need to do that. :crying: :bursting into tears: I.. I... I didn't mean it!! I just say that sort of thing all the time. I've never hit anyone.

<snip>There's that and, some of the Toon Zone members, specifically those of the Y chromosome set, would enjoy a Toon Zone catfight a bit too much.
Then again, that could be an opportunity for us. We could fake it all, like in professional wrestling, sell tickets, and make a killing. <snip> Should I get to work designing our costumes? ooooooooooooooohh... I *could* use a few extra dollars... that might be a great way to- no. I must'nt. But the thought of you designing costumes *is* tempting...

-TimActually, heh, I think the "Fremont Troll" as it's called is fairly well known in this area. It's just been around for about 15 years, so I think for most people the novelty has worn off. Still, since my friends and I are all from Yakima on the other side of the state, it's still new to us. I had seen it once as a kid, and none of them ever had, so when trying to think of a way to pass the time I suggested we go check it out. It's a realy neat roadside attraction - some of the details, like the Volkswagen Beetle getting crushed under it's hand, are particularly amusing.

Hey that chicks not that bad. Thats some good work UberMoney.:anime:Heh, I'm the big guy in the other photos with the "42" shirt, if that's what you're suggesting. :p

Really? I HATE being called "chick". Eh, as I say, it depends on the context and the manner in which it's used. Me, I often will say, "what's up chica/cats/babe/et cetera" depending on the number of my girlfriends that I'm catching up with. I only see it as insulting when it's said in a way that reduces me to nothing more than a physical female. I'm probably not explaining myself very well. =\

Yup. Calling me a chick is no way to get on my good side. Wiseguy. =P

But for the record PC, I doubt anyone would dare call you, 'chick.'

Ohhh... Chibi! I've been toying with coloring my hair. The problem is, it's so dark that it would have to be bleached first, I think. And I don't know if I like that idea.

And for the record, I'm a tad disappointed that Steve didn't know what Keith was talking about. I know he's done a million VA jobs, and I even hear him doing advertising, so I could understand him not remembering some generic character... but Spike? And his final word?! =(

Tom Hanks is shorter than I would have guessed.
