Cuts made by Nick-
This episode was shown in it's entirity when it originally aired, but in every other airing after that two sequences were cut, the scene where Ren has a dream about a woman and kisses Stimpy and washes his mouth in the toilet and a scene where the dogcather wiggles his butt at Ren and Stimpy. The scene where Ren's eyes bug out of his skull and where he washes his mouth out in the toilet can still be seen (about one second of it), in the shows opening sequence. (Two pics from this scene are below)

I guess it was assuming too much that they would air the original episode of "In the Army"/"Powdered Toast Man." Oh well....

Did they cut out the scene from "Big House Blues" where Ren kisses Stimpy and then washes his mouth out in the toilet..?

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I can't believe that I missed "In the Army".

That's one of my all-time favorites.

- the tear gas training

- Ren destroying his bed

- the peeling of the A-bombs

- "I'm the keeper of the cheese!"

I'm in Europe, so I can't see VH-1's Ren and Stimpy airings.
But do realize one thing, guys— if the cartoons are shown censored (and I don't know yet whether they are), it's not necessarily VH-1 doing the censoring. Nickelodeon could very well have sent them censored copies for airing.
Basically, I'm saying don't blame VH-1, which actually had the guts to mention George Liquor by name in their press release.

Yes it was, but supposedly, if you go to VH-1's R&S site, they have the stuff to show you that they cut out.

That scene was only included in the original pilot, which never actually aired. Chances are that VH1 doesn't even have a copy of the original pilot to air.

I love BIG HOUSE BLUES. It's a very funny and creative cartoon, and the animation is great. A little different from the other R&S cartoons.

So far, I don't believe VH1 is editing anything out of the actual 11-minute episodes, but the episodes as a whole are missing some of their little clips and bumpers.

And am I the only one puzzled by the commercial break that is usually cutting into the middle of the second cartoon? Can't the break go afterward before the end credits?

I dunno.....the way VH1 has been airing these (Billy West intros? Yuck!) has been really irking me. It's probably because I was hooked on Ren and Stimpy from the beginning. I did these two extensive in-depth articles on the show (and particularly the Spumco firing) for my high school paper, and I interviewed Jim Smith and Bob Camp. It became very personal for me, since I put so much energy into researching and writing about the show. Afterwards, I even started compiling a private Beck&Friedwald-style episode guide. :)
