One episode left. Just one. And it's going to be a grand day when that last episode airs.

Stick limbs and Ed Harris.
Awesome.
Last Week: In an effort highly reminiscent of "Respect Knuckles," Sealab tries to launch a catchphrase. Whether you laughed or not probably says more about what you find funny rather than any humour inherent in it. Rest was pretty blah.
Starting out with something as colossaly dead as "Ownage" gives me little hope this week's will be better. The whole remake/French original bit subsequent won me back, if I wonder just how erudite they think the audience is. This is that character stuff I enjoyed so much from the earlier seasons, even if the plot is more of the "crew resolutely ignores mystery/imminent danger and acts crazy/stupid" plot they've done a thousand times.
That said, "Debbie, then men are [fill in the blank]" got a bit tired around the time Quinn was in "Walkin' Tall V."
Hesh getting eaten by a shark also earns this episode some points. Those expecting an "F-" on this one, well, not this week. And the W.C. Fields reference from the leprechaun was . . .well, they're aiming for a higher-tier demographic than usual, for sure.
This wasn't perfect--all the stick-limbs in the world won't make Hesh or Stormy funny, and they beat more than a few jokes into the ground, but the core of the episode was pretty much Sealab the way it should have been all along. Of course, this is the pentultimate episode, which qualfies as "tragic irony." Ah well, improvement should be rewarded. C

I thought the "My other ride is your mom" was a good bumper sticker idea. Other than that this episode was another okay one. It seems like the show has gotten a second wind right before its death.

Hesh was good. The rest uh, sucked.

Wow. I actually LIKED a Sealab episode. The Debbie stuff fell flat, but the guy stuff friggin rocked. Would've been an A+ episode if Harry Goz was still alive, but still good.

If it had a good ending, it would've been a pretty good episode, not perfect, but good. I KNOW the ending was supposed to be anticlimatic and all the plot threads were supposed to be left unresolved after all the build-up, but even I will admit that Sealab abuses over and over both anticlimatic and non-sequitor endings, so that it was really a cop-out coming from these guys.
Its like that EXCELLANT episode with Quinn and Stormy trapped in the cave, classic S1 style and quality, but a lackluster ending.
I'm pretty forgiving with alot of TV, for better or for worse, but not only do I admit that alot of their new stuff is bad, but when they have some good going on, its like they PURPOSELY screw it up.
I don't know, maybe they know they'll get good or decent ratings with the mainstream, non-nerd college audience without needing to try, or maybe its just a joke on the nerds since they like to do that (even though we only make up such a small portion of the ratings that it doesn't really matter and they're just confusing the mainstream).
HELL, maybe they're AFRAID to try to make a good episode on purpose, afraid they might fail at first and it'll take awhile to get good, so its easier to stay in the comfort zone where they know they'll still get ratings, and when they occasionally have the workings of a good episode or a full-blown good script, they purposely sabotage it so that way they don't have to feel guilty if the following episode sucks, or is not quite as good.
Maybe I got it wrong, maybe they're just lazy or have gotten that bad so they won't follow through their good episodes with good endings and good following episodes.
But if I am right, then all I can say to the writers is this:
Take some responsibility. Have pride in what is a dream job for many and presumably yours, and work hard. You got out of college years ago.
GROW UP.

Pretty good post-desoutherning-Shanks episode, especially the constant sticklimbs.
And I want the "My Other Ride Is Your Mom" bumper sticker.
This was a decent episode, except for most of Debbie's parts. But then I doubt most of her parts weren't really intended to be funny. They were really only there to move along the plot, which wasn't very good in the first place. I loved the wooden limbs, the monster truck, and the old chair exploding.

It's called an opinion. Deal with it.
The series should have ended with the Whale episode, that reminded me more of the early seasons in it's entirty than this did in two minutes.

Stick limbs,Ed harris is gonna kick my a$s,now its just....lab,that was all hilarious
But I figured out some major personality flaws with the newer eps, quinn is now an a$s and debbie is the smart one,so I end up hating any scene in non murph eps with them
but,this was a funny ep,3.5/5
next week is the big finale....

Y'know, these last few episodes have actually been enjoyable. Not perfect, still far from the greatness of the first seasons, but still pretty funny.

I agree that this was a pretty good episode. Two good episodes in a row. Amazing. Quinn was out of character again, but I like that Stormy mentioned it. Shanks still sucks though. Shouldn't the water have been higher? I mean, they could see the top of that wall of water. I thought Sealab was deep below the surface.
I take back my F and upgrade it to a D because of that bumper sticker and some more dialouge comedy.
But one can only wonder about the finale. I'm expecting something big and probably offensive to anime fans.

I thought it was a good episode after looking at what went on, not as good as last week's in my eyes, but it wasn't horrible either. The "My other ride is your mom" bumper sticker was hilarious, the whole "Quiet the men are talking" got funny when Mr. Howell did it to Lovey and Hesh's predicament with the twig limbs was good.
I didn't really like Debbie's role in the episode nor the explanation for why the water was not there around them. I did like the irony of the end with the water coming back, the windows broken and no scuba tanks around.. all for a comfy chair with assault weapon. :D

If.....WOAH, sorry I exploded like that over something as unimportant as a tv show and wrote that post. I was in something of a foul mood before seeing the episode.
Except for the lame ending, it was pretty good. The stick limbs was more gratious shock factor that Sealab abuses, but this time it was hilarious, seeing all the ways Stormy and Hesh used the sticks and were actually enjoying having sticks for limbs ("You'll be getting fruit soon.""Fricken' Awesome!"). Debby being the voice of reason was great (Although it was akward how Quinn bounces in and out of character and they awknowledged it.) and her giving up being
a slut has provided plenty of stories, and the monster truck stuff was cool.
Ending still SUCKED, but this and the S1-style cave episode so far have been the best of the season.

Great episode. I love this show and I'm gonna miss it.
I crack up whenever I hear Mc Chris say "Freakin awesome!"
