Original Title: To the Hot Spring! The Mysterious Mountain's Miracle of Love

Purin, with her performer antics, is getting quite popular with Cafe Mew Mew's customers. Too bad Ichigo's workload isn't getting any easier...anyway, Retasu opens the mail to reveal that she's won a trip to a fancy mountain resort! The four girls take a vaction to the mountain and meet...Aoyama-kun? No, it's Masazo Aoyamada, who bears a striking resemblance to Ichigo's heartthrob. Aoyamada is upset because his village has voted to tear down the surrounding wilderness and (well, not intentionally) endanger the wildlife to build said fancy mountain resort. (Retasu: Oops...) The boy warns that the construction will anger Bachigappa, the "guardian of the mountain". Eventually Kisshu arrives on the scene, and soon after him...the real Bachigappa!?

Okay, this episode has a bit of Japanese religion in it, and the girls and Aoyamada pray at a small Bachigappa shrine, though it's quite likely this will be edited out. There's also the matter of the Chimera Animal for this episode's..uh...attack. O_o; *coughcoughfartingcoughcough* So, um, not sure about that one.

Oh great. I've never been a fan of flatulence in Anime. It looks even more disturbing than when it's done in shows like South Park. One of the reasons I stayed the hell away from Ultimate Muscle. Also I've had enough toilet humor after that shedload of Conker:Live and Reloaded screens with a certain boss character.;)

[Anime Otaku]

-Dub Pudding/Kiki REALLY doesn't sound right. I know they made her older, but she sounded better with her original cute voice. Of course, I haven't been watching the dub much, so NONE of the voices sound right to me :P
-Isa-oshi? They changed a Japanese name into something that sounds Japanese anyway?
-They seem to be handling the religous referances well enough, considering that this is 4Kids...
-Wow, that's an ugly Chimera Animal...
-Did they cut out the Pudding Ring again? -_- Wouldn't it be easier to just keep the damn thing in?
-They kept in the farting. Yay?
-GASP! They kept the Pudding Ring in the second time! Wait...now I'm confused...why didn't they keep it in in the first place?
-In the preview...Mint's brother is now "Sturgio"? Okaaaaaay.... EDIT:OK, so they said "Surgio". I'm not very awake at 7:30 AM :p Still, a name change is a name change.

No her brother is called Sergio. That "gas" attack wasn't as bad as I was expecting. And nice to see Kikki's attack intact. I was wondering how they get trapped in gelatin with that whole trench going by. Apparently it involves the ring. BTW, are we to expect every single one of those Chimera Animas/Predasites to be sucking on human spirits from here on out? I think somebody's overusing the things.

EDIT: Well Mew Mew is definately making a lot of fans. I've seen plenty 4Kids' Shout outs regarding it. Maybe I shoulda made that one about the mew puns I decided to change my mind about.

just another "lets go to the HotSprings!" episode. that pretty much every anime (even when its not in the manga) has. and a 'oops sorry my mistake' ending of certain characters.
i liked the handling of the episode over all, it was good, but the ep in general on entertainment was low...fillers have a tendency to do that lol

Yeesh! Marcos voices sounds better then Mark!! WTH?!
they should use that one for Mark.

I hope individual transformations come back soon, I still didn't get to hear or see Bridges full transfrom.
Gotta love magic girl shows where the character has 30 to 40 seconds to transform while the enemy is RIGHT THERE. lol i know its suppose to be like...fast and all but the thought is still funny

strange how Kiki would keep her sniffle transformed into Mew Kiki...you'd expect it to go away, since transforming should take away certain flaws.
4kids and fart jokes...eh you knew that was coming.

this Sergio chara just something the anime made up?
he certainly wasn't in the manga...at all. it makes more sense for Mint/Corina to be an only child.

though i do like the dub names.
i think they should have just called her Strawberry...or at least her last name could have been. I mean I grew up on the toon "Strawberry Shortcake" and her other food named friends.

Highlights for me

The only reason pudding ring wasn't shown last episode was to speed up the pace for time. There can't be any other reason, it's a perfectly harmless attack.

My comments on today's episode:

-For those who have seen the original Japanese version: what is up with Purin's sneezing? Is it a cold, allergies, or just someone mentioning her behind her back?

-LOL the girls mistaking the bulldozer as Bachigappa, with the girls willing to offer it some of the food that Lettuce made as a sign of apology.

-You know, considering Aoyamada's belief that the woods shouldn't be torn down and turned into a hot spring resort, I kinda wished Eric Cartman was there to whoop his "hippie" ass (and don't get me started about the whole "petition" crap 4Kids added to the dub, since everyone else in the town was for the building of the resort in the original Japanese version).

-Note to 4Kids: after seeing how bad the editting was when combining the henshin sequences for all four girls, I reccommend that when when it comes to that type of editting, it best to leave it to the pros. (http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=59403)

-They left in the "Fart O' Doom". Makes you wonder how many viewers were grossed out by that.

Next week: A Mint-centered episode that can cause Princess Tutu flashbacks. :anime:

Better late than...nevermind. This episode didn't really have much. The freaky mailman was the best part. "Delivery-fo-Bridget-VerDANT!" MMPU comparison. (http://mmpu.smuncensored.com/ep8.html) Oh yeah, and Marco has a way better voice than Mark. Why? ;_;

Anyway, 4Kids pulled a food edit and changed the riceball-octopus-salad-sandwhich lunch (http://tinypic.com/4kxlq9) the girls were eating (http://tinypic.com/4kxlrq) on the mountain to a fiftysandwhiches-moresalad lunch. Also, for some reason, earlier in the episode the little puff (http://tinypic.com/4kxlw0) was erased from Purin. They also edited the scene where Ichigo was talking so that she didn't knock her shoulders like a massage while talking about relieving stress. But what's the point?

All the praying to Bachigappa was edited out.

And then they stuck in a transformation sequence once more with the insert song, this time including Purin's footage. They showed Retasu's transformation out of order, a clip from Retasu's twice, and the beginning clip of Purin's attack. Doh. Also, in the original there was no mention of a petition. Everybody approved the construction, even the villagers. They were only against it after "Bachigappa" appeared, and they were afraid of "angering him again". Finally a small, pretty much wordless scene at the end was cut with Aoyamada and Ichigo staring at each other.

Eh, it's probably because the girls jumped out of the hotspring so fast and Purin didn't dry off properly, so she caught a chill.
