This just popped into my head while watching a helicopter lift off from a local hospital. I found myself watching in awe as this large object hovered gracefully about 100 feet off the ground. The power and force of the rotors was amazing. It seems like a guy thing, but I thought it was sweet!
What about everyone else?

It's not just a GUY thing. I like going to airports because it's just so entrancing, watching something that can hold so many people, yet can fly up in the air like a bird... (getting REALLY into it here...) It's so amazing how it can float up there, how it can possibly be light enough. That all changed, of course, once I started learning physics. It's just not the same anymore. :(

A topless blond chick driving a Chevy. Swear to Gawd! She drove right by me as I went through an intersection. I thought it was sweeeet, so maybe it's a guy thing.

Now that is not something you see everyday!
Another thing for me was the first time (and only time) that I saw an aircraft carrier in person. That, I must say, was quite an impressive sight!

One time, I went to the end of a run way at the Minneapolis Airport and watched a 747 fly right over head. That was pretty cool! I am surprised it didn't break the car windows!
I've also seen the space shuttle fly over head. It's quite amazing, even with the naked eye...this little white dot flying so far over head it's mind boggling.

Your story reminds me of last year's Mock Crash to try to prevent drunk driving at prom. The "crashed" cars were already out, but we got to see cop cars race to the "accident" from down the road, and a helicopter actually came, landed on school grounds, and carried the "injured" passenger away. You could feel the wind, debris, and the engine from where you were standing. I kept wanting to see Batman or someone drop from the sky, and save the passengers. But i guess it was daylight
Also, a few days after 9/11, i heard a really loud rumble. The kind you can feel. Looking out my window, i saw a fleet of military helicopters flying in full formation over my house. They came from the Wright Pat AFB, which is really close to where i live. I was filled w/ the combined senses of patriotism, justice, and at the same time dread.

I've always thought it was a sublime sight to look up to the top of a huge building.

Ever felt like you might fall backwards as you looked up to see the top? That's a weird feeling.
What about being at the top of a very tall building. How small everything looks...and how the building sways. That can be a creepy feeling sometimes.
You know, there's something about military aircraft. At the local airport, there's an Air National Guard Unit posted there. They have a squadron of F-16's. Actually, just seeing those things sitting there is cool, but seeing them take off and land is, well, cool.

I got to watch a stealth bomber on a test flight here in Kansas City one time which was real cool. Seeing military planes is alwasy cool becuase you don't get to see them too often and they usually look so different than normal day to day planes you see in the sky.

I've also observed footage of a human brain being operated on, with general anethetic (that is, the patient is awake during the thing) to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder.

There is something amazing about the military's planes, etc. I went to Fleet Week in NYC Harbor a few years ago. I got to board the USS John F. Kennedy (an air craft carrier) which was incredible. I saw all of the fighter jets, and they had a demonstation of a Harrier Jet. those things are loud! We were standing so far away from it and still had to scream to be heard.
Then, in May (again at Fleet Week) we went on a cruise halfway around Manhattan Island. The ferry did a U-turn in front of the Statue of Liberty. Standing at the bow and looking up at the statue was amazing. The ferry turned around started heading toward the island head on. I have a picture I took from the bow of Downtown with the Twin Towers in the middle. It's a great shot.

Here's a pleasant thought; by Niagra Falls, they have something called the "Spanish Aero-Car", a small compartment-type thingie. It can hold about 15 or so people. Drawback: You look at what's holding the car up. Wires. Though they are probably very strong, you don't have a very secure feeling about them as you look at them, because they look rather thin. Not only that, but you are being carried who-knows-how-many-feet over raging rapids. Quite relaxing, no? :D

The 40-foot mirrorball lemon from U2's Popmart tour. That damn thing was so inexplicable, it was cool. And, for the encore, it moved into the stage projection and unscrewed, with the band inside. It was a 40-foot mirrorball lemon spaceship. Strangely enough, during a slower song it acted perfectly like a mirrorball, big enough to through spotlights all over the stadium.

i remember i had to take senior pictures in high school where i had wear this fake tuxedo jacket and bowtie. anyways, there is girl who was working there and she was helping me put my bowtie on. she was standing in front of me and we were about the same height. when she was helping put the bowtie on, i tilted my head downward, so we wouldn't be in an awkward position of being right into each other's faces, and she was wearing a sweater with a low neckline and needless to say, i saw something. after i took my pictures, she was helping me take off my bowtie and once, i tilted my head downward.
