We need an "Anime Angry" smiley

(Basicly a yellow smiley with squinty eyes and a big red "Angry cross" AKA "Anime Angry X" AKA "Anime Anger Veins")

I thought it was okay.
Maybe the cross would be easier to see if it was darker, or the face was lighter, or it was filled in with semi-transparent reds to give it dimensional shading. Or maybe the exact opposite of everything I just said. How would I know? No really, I don't know.

Anyhow, did you make this one too?

The problem I ran into with zman's thought of tightening the X,is that with the image being SO tiny (15x15 pixels), when I bring the crosses any closer together, it joins, making one big red blob. Because they're only one pixel apart, and the X is currently composed of nothing but one pixel segments.


Or maybe the exact opposite of everything I just said. How would I know? No really, I don't know. Same here. :sweat:


Anyhow, did you make this one too? It's just an animated gif made from ascii text. Currently working on a few others such as one waving hello/goodbye, crying, et cetera. But not until I get zmans angry face perfected.

It looks pretty good so far, although it's a little hard to make out unless you're sitting close to the screen. Aquadementia's suggestions sound pretty good. My only suggestion would be to look into other colors for the face since we already have a number of blue and green smilies, and a less-used color might help distinguish it from some of the others. Taking your advice Shnay, I tried to find face colors which aren't used as much, but colors where a red vein will (hopefully stand out)... and ADs suggestion, I tried a pale orange and a pale purple. Made the vein more of a true red as opposed to having a purplish tinge. (Looking at the gifs, they all look like some super bright pink... I can fix that easily enough though.)

More importantly, I'm concerned at this stage with the vein. So I reshaped it to some weird sort of shape, which with any luck, at such a tiny size, still looks something like the anime vein.

Well, you don't know until you try, right? So I tried the -.- type, and expanded the X with some shading. The X now rocks, IMO.

But the eyes were too bland for the look i'm going for. So I added the >.< back... viola...

I think I like the purple color better, but I think you can see the expression better on the orange one. You're doing great so far, keep up the good work.

Choose one. I'm with the majority of folks who like the light purple/lavender one. But it's your choice.

Clarification: That's one gif with the colors I narrowed down (others overpowered the vein/expression). So just tell me the color ya want and I'll finish it.


Also, just wanted to thank everyone for the feedback and suggestions. Falcon, I'm not sure I'd pull off the dropped jaw, but I'll give yours a go next.

Oh, well now that you pointed it out, I see what you mean. I was concentrating on the colors & shading, and I truly don't see a difference there. But if we're talking physical features, then I like the first set better (more uniform)

People probably have noticed, but I barely use them, and the only one(s) I really use are (is) :evil: and :mad:.
