The bracket went up today. I've already filled mine out. I'm sad that Mithos is gone in round 1. And Alex didn't even make it.
Final Four are pretty much set in stone, but just for the record, am I the only one who has Sigma losing in round 1? (in case you haven't looked, he's facing Andross).
I just went on today & noticed that it started a few days ago. I'm surprised I didn't notice that before.

This is probably the most predictable one yet. I've got Sephiroth v. Gannondorf in the finals. As much as I'd like to see Tenpenny there (Best Sam Jackson role ever) it's not gonna happen.

Today my bracket looses its perfection. Ghaleon > Vergil??? What was I thinking???

They really should disqualify winners(maybe games?) from previous contests. It just feeds a vicious cycle. Sepi wins. People think Sepi will win. Sepi wins again.

Sephy will win again..I'd like Kefka to win this time, but unfortunately that won't happen.

What do you mean Sephy will win again? He's never won before (although he deserved it more than Cloud the year he made it to the finals).

Actually, YES he has. Sephiroth won the Villian contest last year, I remember that for sure.
Oh, and, there are two contests each year..One for villians, and the other for heroes. Just incase you're mixing up the two.

There... was no villain contest last year. Last year there was a character battle and a game battle. There has never been a villain battle before.

Mithos got snubbed... damn, I thought he was a great sympathetic villain. On a scale of evilness, he would be low, but if the same things happened to me that did to him, I would support him.

Come on guys. Haven't we all learned by now that every time GameFAQs does one of these things, something of or relating to Final Fantasy VII will emerge victorious.

One word - Link.
Also, I'm still waiting for an answer from the person who said there has been a villain contest before. And I would like proof, please.

Thats why Link has won half of the contests so far.

2002 Character Contest - Winner: Link Runner Up: Mario
2003 Character Contest - Winner: Cloud Runner Up: Sephiroth
2004 Game Contest - Winner: Final Fantasy VII Runner Up: Chrono Trigger

Like I said before it would be intersting to not include anything Nintendo/Square Enix related since that site is heavy on those particular fan boys.

Does it even matter who wins? Honestly every single character is well known in these things. Even characters who were ocne thought obscure, have been turned into well-known characters due to their famous obscurity...

Well yes and no. Looking back on their previous polls they would grab someone out of the blue nobody heard of just so they could guarantee Cloud or Squall would advance.

At least he looks menacing for the part. Maybe you ought to compare Sephiroth and Kefka's reigns in both games and see for yourself who is the greater of two evils?

Kefka did far more evil.
Word to the wise: Causing pain over a long period of time, is FAR more on the evil side then small or smaller attempts. If you realize, Sephiroth didn't do much in comparison to Kefka.
Ohm, and sorry about earlier, I just seemed to remember a villian contest happening before, but I knew Sephiroth had a higher "title" in some contest on Gamefaqs.

Kefka lacked style, all villans equate style with evilness, Darth Vader, Dr. Doom, Cobra Commander, Megatron. All of them fused in awe inspiring weaponry and armor and strung slew after slew of powerful words together to back up their deeds.
Kekfa giggled...giggled like a little school girl and fought naked...
Villans have to make evil look good, it's their number 1 requirement.

Actually, out of everyone on there, the one who has done the most evil is probably Lavos. The least? Easily Ridley or Ultros.

What new characters to this battle do you think may be in the summer battle? The following have already been in all-out character battles: Sephy, Bowser, Ganon, Kefka, Luca, CATS, and Liquid Snake. Out of the new entries, who do you think will make it into this summer's all-out?
My predictions (and in order from most-likely to least-likely):
Revolver Ocelot
Vergil
Lavos
Ridley
Albert Wesker
Mithos
Ansem
Officer Tenpenny (cuz we don't need Tanner again)

Where exactly does he fight naked in the game? He's always dressed in aristocratic garments and at the end, he's clothed in a a toga!
Yeah, he giggles, but what stylistic villain doesn't? At least his laugh reflects his sheer insanity and glee.
Kefka didn't lack style! You have a man who single-handedly turned against his own leader to usurp control over the Esper statues and turn the whole world into his personal playground! He poisoned a nation's water supply just to enjoy their deaths. He beats up women, burns up villages, and takes everything under his control no matter how big or small. His reasons for all that? Nothing. He just does it for the hell of it. He doesn't need a reason for his actions. Any time someone grills him on his actions, he brushes them off with a one-liner or flat out tells them to shut up. How exactly do you top that?

Also he may have done all those actions....but he didn't advertise by a big Akira-Esque explosions...or Massive Spritely images of injustice...the impact of his actions were lessened by this...
Also his laugh was MIDI...I dare say he sounded like the sound when somebody guesses wrong on Wheel of Fortune...that "naah nah nah naaaaaah" sound

However, those actions alone, I consider him a far better villian then Sephy. Sephy is cool and all, but personally Kefka is greater.
Overall though, I like Kuja the best of the FF villians, but that's for another a topic, heh heh.

The bottom line is that Kefka committed his crimes and were made known by all the people across or within a certain region of the world. He does bad things, people hate him, he gets his s**ts and giggles, the whole enchilada!

Hey guys! It's been a while! Sorry, I was unable to access the Internet for about a week, but it's great to be back!
Since I've been gone, Tales of Symphonia has seen its first representation in a GameFAQs battle - Mithos. And if I must say, I think that the game shows potential.
Mithos got 36% against Kefka. Putting in the calculations of last summer's Character Battle, this means that Mithos would get approximately 16% against Link. Now, that may seem bad, but it puts him about on par with Luigi. Yes, you heard me, based on percentages, Mithos is on par with LUIGI. While Luigi has proven to be the weakest character from his game (as far as character battles go), he is still pretty popular. To say that Mithos, a character who is rarely talked about and has a relatively minor role in a game that was released less than a year ago, could give Mario's brother a tough time is a very positive sign for ToS representation in this summer's character battle. If Mithos is about as strong as Luigi, there is no doubt in my mind that at least Lloyd or Kratos could beat Luigi, and possibly even Sheena. My personal favorite, however, is Yuan, even though he would probably be even weaker than Mithos. Not to mention that I would've loved to see him in the villain contest, however...
WARNING: Spoiler for about half-way through Tales of Symphonia:
he wasn't eligable because he falls under the category of "villains become allies".
What is your look?

I'm not surprised..But..How could Sephiroth win a Villain contest, if he isn't truly a villain? Also on that note, sephiroth should be banned from possible nominaiton in the future, if they ever do a Villain contest erver again.
He'd just win anyway.
