I have some more great news regarding Turner Classic Movies month long salute to the history of "Short Subjects" in Feburary.

It kicks off on Feb.5th 2002 at 8pm EST with a brand new 90 min titled, "ADDED ATTRACTIONS" which will focus on this history on the amercian short subject before the feature length film.

Produced by TCM/TIME WARNER, this program will feature many clips of the shorts, some of which haven't been seen in over seventy years. Many of the big studios will be represented in this special such as:
Vitaphone/Warner Bros.

Pathe Film Exchange

Columbia Pictures

Metro Goldwyn Mayer

Educational Pictures

Universal Pictures

Paramount/Famous Players/Lasky

RKO Radio

And following the special there will be an all night "Selected Short Subjects" every Tuesday night starting from 8pm to 6am.Here are some of the highlights that will be included

Newly restored shorts from the Vitaphone Project & the UCLA FILM AND TELEVISON ARCHIVE

Brand new early sound shorts and early Techincolor shorts from the late 20s and early 30s.

And for all you "Fatty Arbuckle" fans (such as myself) out there, the special will show clips of Roscoe directing and will present some of his early sound films for Viatphone during the early 30s, and that is not to be missed....

Some of the series not to miss are....
WW2 Properganda Shorts
Sports Shorts
Comedy Shorts
Early Sound Shorts
Early Technicolor Shorts
and....THE DOGVILLE COMEDIES this is the series NOT TO MISS...If you want to see some of the weirdest funny comedies ever produced in the history of Hollywood then check out all nine shorts on late Tues/Early Wed.
