I just hate how it's always been up against Who's Line. I'll have to tape that now and watch The Tick.

I love this new series! It's the best new comedy on Fox since That 70's Show premiered!

And I have to keep this thread at the top so I remember to watch it!

Man, I love this show! You could give the Tick's antennae a show of their own. I loved how as Tick was saying "Lamancha" his antennae were jumping. I also loved the part when Arthur was meeting those disgruntled sidekicks and that guy in the pink and black was complaining "look at these bright colors who do you think they're gonna shoot at first." Wonder who that was supposed to be. ;)
Man, I hope this show sticks around long enough for them to do a parody of Batman, that would be great!

The show is awesome! Fox better not be stupid enough to cancel it, its the Tick! Of course, the Immortal died.....when he was supposed to be Immortal...but still, come on you can't cancel the Tick!

Who said I don't like TiVo?

I just prefer to wait for the same technology where you can take the dics out you record on so you can save the TV shows. I think once recordable DVD is commonplace, TiVo's niche in this world is done. It has nothing to do with the fact I don't like them, I actually love the concept behind it, but I see it as a fading technology. Just read the articles about it. I won't be surprised when they file bankruptcy.

Hm, with partners like Sony, AOL, and NBC, I'll believe it when I see it. Obviously there must be some promise in it if Microsoft was willing to create a similar product.

TiVo technology is here to say, and it has a built in feature to send video to a recording device so its just simply a matter of hooking up your archive recorder of choice, whether it be a VCR or DVD-R.

But the point of TiVo is not to archive shows anyhow, I mean seriously...how many shows do you want to archive? I enjoy a lot of shows but don't feel the need to archive them. And what about storage limits? How high can current writeable DVD media go, something like 4.7gb...Even if they reach DVD-18's 19gb or whatever, its still not really appropriate for time shifting shows. If you're archiving the shows and lets say you want to record The Tick and then a movie on Turner, do you really want them on the same disc? A TiVo is only limited by the size of hard drives currently available, meaning people actually own 350gb TiVos...thats insane recording time!

D'oh! It was great. Again. I swear if Fox cancels this show for more World's Craziest Ostrich Attacks or whatever...

I guess I'll spoilerize it, just in case.

Basically, the Tick needed to get a superhero license, which is a lot like a driver's license, and you actually get it at the DVD. But the Tick didnt know anything about his real name or date of birth or anything. So Arthur tries to find out who he is. THen some woman comes up telling Tick his name is Ted Glick and she's his wife. And so he leaves Arthur to go with her, and there were some *great* domestic scenes with him and his wife. Eventually Arthur finds out Tick's wife is a con-woman, so Tick leaves her and becomes a superhero again. In the end, he just made his information up to get his license. Oh and the B storylines were great, Batmanuel trying to use a PR guy to get on the front page of the paper, Cpt. Liberty going out with a regular guy and then scaring him off when she beat up a would be robber.

You missed it on it's regular night? Dude, I'm sorry! You should watch Family Guy before it so you're sure not to miss it!

What I want is an online TV directory service where you can sign up to have email reminders sent to you to help you remember when your shows are on!

And back to TiVo....wouldn't I have to set it to record like a VCR? So if you forget to set your VCR (like I have done from time to time) then all you have is a more expensive video recorder you forget to set.

PS To Bird Boy: That is the second time I have accidently hit "edit/delete" instead of "reply!" Just incase you were wondering why it said I edited your post! http://cwm.mengi.net/s/contrib/sarge/Twitch_anim.gif

Yeah, I do that all the time. Just hit "back" on the browser and you won't do any damage.

No, with TiVo you merely setup a "Season Pass", it will automatically record the Tick everytime it comes on. It doesn't matter whether its on a different night or time, it will record it. Set it once, and forget it. Its also intelligent enough, for most shows, to no record it more than once if its repayed at a later time...like how some cable networks will repeat the episode later in the week. With many shows you can choose to record reruns or have it only record brand new airings.

Sounds pretty cool! I just wish they allowed you to store the episodes permanently on a digital format as well.
