Get Up

Get Active

Get Animated

While driving to work today down La Cienega Blvd north of the 10 Freeway, there was a huge CN billboard. The billboard had a yellow background with a male teen appearing approximately 15 or 16 riding a mountain bike with a smiling Teen Titans Robin next to him and a zooming Flash behind him.

La Cienaga is a main thoroughfare that feeds from Hollywood, West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. It is interesting that, based on the billboard, CN is targeting male teens (and not preteens) from well to do areasand that the shows CN sees as mature enough to gain the target audience’s attention is Teen Titans and Justice League.

It is interesting that CN is starting a full media print campaign to get new viewers to tune into CN. I have seen billboards advertising Adult Swim programs but this is the first CN billboard I have seen. I wonder if CN is doing it in all major markets (eg. in addition to LA, NYC, Chicago, Atlanta etc...) or only a selected few.

"Get Animated" is probably less of a tune-in incentive and more so part of the CDC intiative that many children's media programs are participating in.

You may have also seen the VERB (http://www.cdc.gov/youthcampaign/) ads, or Nickelodeon's Let's Just Play campaign.

The program is set in order to try and promote kids to actually turn OFF their TV's and get outside for a while.

There's another thread about CN's DCAU themed campaign here. (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=137984)
