Although you can see by character lineart for my comic book project "Anything Goes" in the Drawing Board forum, I thought it would be nice to back them up with my bios of the characters themselves.

Here's a bio for my assassin action hero, "The Cleaner":

HISTORY
No one knows about the Cleaner’s history before his eighth birthday. What is known since then that he was raised in an orphanage in the Cherokee Indian Reservation in southwest Montana. It was rumored that he was the youngest son to a French-American industrialist who was murdered along with his entire family by shadow members to the international crime syndicate, the Red Dragon.

Suffering from amnesia and given the adopted name of “Standing Bear” the boy was comforted by a old medicine man and soon learned the use of a battle ax and a bow and arrow in order to defend himself. When he visited the local dojo owned by the wise man’s son, he volunteered as a student and quickly rose among the ranks to earn a black belt in karate and judo. Following his sixteenth birthday and concerning about the raising crime in the reservation, Standing Bear decided to leave his home and travel the world to study and become a soldier.

He traveled to Los Angeles to practice in boxing and street survival, and then to Japan where he was trained as a samurai, then moved to Hong Kong where an experienced Kung Fu master taught him special fighting techniques to enhance his skills. Standing Bear’s travels sent him to Korea, Thailand, Mongolia and India to perfect his fighting skills; Italy, where he was trained in racecar driving; and Oxford University in England, where he studied criminology and biochemistry and became an excellent fencer. He then journeyed to London where he volunteered for the British Army, where he was trained in military small arms and survival skills, and later the SAS where he served as a counter-terrorist agent. After years of service, he was honorably discharged from the Army and moved to Africa serving as a mercenary and bodyguard.

His journeys end in Paris, France where he met with a soon-to-be-retired professional assassin. Under the assassin’s tutelage, Standing Bear learned the ropes of being a hit man. Following the assassin’s retirement, Standing Bear soon adopted his teacher’s trade and change his identity under the pseudonym “The Cleaner”. For the next few years, the Cleaner has gained a reputation in the European criminal underworld; igniting brutal gang wars forced rival syndicates to hire the Cleaner to eliminate their enemies, with deadly brutality and lethal precision.

One day the Cleaner was hired a terrorist group to assassinate the French president on a visit to New York City. But when he finally made contact with his target, his moral compass prevented him from pulling the trigger and later ends up saving the president’s life when his former clients ambush a motorcade.

Unbeknownst to the Cleaner, his heroic actions caught the eye of Lance Bishop, the director of the international espionage and peacekeeping organization INTERCOV, and the person in charge of the French president’s security detail. Bishop later approached the Cleaner catching a flight back to Paris and offered him a job at INTERCOV. Not knowing where to go and guided by his morality, the Cleaner accepts.

Recruited to INTERCOV, the Cleaner received intensive intelligence training and access to the agency’s high-tech gadgets, but only is limited to access their conventional weapons armory; he does not have yet the security clearance for their advance weaponry. He is also assigned an assistant named Clarence Patrick Ustinov, or CPU, a former MIT graduate and gifted gunsmith and mechanic who provide him with fully modified vehicles, including his armed mobile headquarters, the “Bug Zapper” battle wan. Other than communication to Bishop, his command staff and CPU, the Cleaner prefers to go on missions alone with no partners, no teammates, and no backup.

Although his still classified as an assassin, the Cleaner’s missions with INTERCOV involve hostage rescue, fugitive capture and bodyguard assignments. One such assignment involved protecting a Hong Kong businessman who agrees to testify against the Red Dragon crime syndicate. After an intense shootout with a Red Dragon hit team, one of the businessman’s two sons was killed in the crossfire. And his other son may be rumored to be missing. Something that may later haunt the Cleaner when one of the Red Dragon’s newest rising assassin, Black Snow, is obsessed with tracking down the Cleaner and eliminating him.

After the September 11th, 2001 attacks on New York and the Pentagon, INTERCOV has promoted the Cleaner to now handle cases involving major terrorist actions and high-stakes global security threats. Far from his humble days in an Indian orphanage, the Cleaner is one of the world’s most dangerous assassins and the only INTERCOV agent who can tackle the dirty jobs no one dares to accept… No matter what the cost.
