Hey! Spoilers, people!

Okay, it's been a long time since we had new episodes to talk about, and we've all gotten a little out of practice with spoilers. But please remember there are people who come to this board because they want to read and talk about JL, but who haven't seen new episodes yet and don't want their pleasure spoiled. So, a few guidelines:

First, when starting a thread, do not put spoilers in the thread title! People who want to avoid spoilers can do a pretty good job of it themselves by avoiding certain threads. But they can't do it if you shout out the spoiler on the main forum page.

Second, when in doubt go ahead and put a note like "(spoilers)" in the thread title.

Third, these boards do have a genuine spoiler command, so that you can put up a "spoiler box," like this:

Hawkgirl has a crush on Tweety!

Just type [/spoiler] at the end and [spoiler] at the beginning of the text you want to hide. The old standbys like

SPOILER

*
*
*

do work, but aren't as effective as the box.

Mostly you should be able to use your common sense to see when spoiler warnings are appropriate. Obviously we're not looking for perfection here, and people who want to avoid spoilers will need to be extra cautious. But the rest of us: Please do try to be careful.

Only Mods have the power to post !(important) messages....it's because they want people to see that instantly and read it right away instead of eventually stumbling upon it. Yeah they take up space but so do all the other topics.

Oh brother, now everyone & there mother is gonna try out the "new" spolier command, to see if it REALLY works, even though it obviously does. so this thread is gonna degenerate into a bunch of black boxes..the strongest material known to man. Which is why we should make airplanes out of black boxes

Wow. I appreciate the fact that people are taking my rant seriously enough to learn how to use the spoiler box.

But there is a test board around here where you can try this stuff out. It's the "Is This Thing On?" board. You can try out that and many other features there.

I'm glad our lil disscusion lead to this. It was getting very bad. Thanks, Maxie! Although I havn't had anythign spoiled for myself, I know ppl who have, and they didn't speak up. So I did. :)

Having done my best to gently guide people over to the test board (a.k.a. "Is This Thing On?" (http://forums.toonzone.net/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=4)) I will now be closing this thread to discourage further pointless posting.

I will leave it stuck for a day or two more, as a reminder.
