...I was skimming channels and fell upon the Canadian chanel YTV. And what was on? The new Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen animated cartoon. It was quite possibly the worst thing I have ever seen...
It was so...repulsive...so very repulsive...

Oh, yeah. I heard about this show.
Aren't they supposed to have like an alien/robot dog or something that hangs out with them?
wayyyyyyyyyyyyy creepy.

Everything that the Dini/Timm DC Universe is, the Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen cartoon is NOT. I saw one episode, once, and wondered how the animators got through the storyboards without laughing so hard at its patheticness that their stomach imploded.
But then again, what did we expect? The markets they're making these shows for are total opposites.
(Typical) Market:
---------------------
Dini/Timm DC Universe Cartoons-- Men in their 20's & 30's
Olsen Twins Cartoon-- Girls in their pre-to-early Teens
I doubt there are many 12-year girls who watch our shows, and I really, really hope there isn't anyone in our demographic who watches the Olsen Twins...

I caught the opening credits to this last Saturday. I was so horrified I came down with partial amnesia and successfully blocked it from my memory.
Until now.
Thanks, DG. . .

And I felt I wasted my time when I once checked out what the Sabrina animated series was like, and also when I checked to see what the Anne of Green Gables Animated series was like. DG, I feel your pain.

Having successfully avoided this "show" so far, can some one please tell me when and where it's on in the states? Just so I can continue to avoid it. :D I'm only asking because I fear that even if I accidentally come across it my eyes may attempt suicide. :p

"Freaky" is a word that comes to mind. The Providence Journal once had an article on twins. At the very top, it said "Sponsered by Scary-Kate and Ghastly Olsen". (Dont' worry, they had permission) Thing is, I couldn't agree more.
As a 13-year-old girl......well, I suppose I'm a rarity, then. :D Though many of the girls in my class don't like them either (well, they don't like cartoons so much either....their idea of good entertainment is Jackie Chan, which isn't that bad an entertainment... :D )

GGGGWWWUUUUUUAAAAAAGGGGHHH!!!
I was hoping never to hear those words again..."animated" and "Olsen" together...
....okay, I truly hope the show goes down the tube fast. These are just virtual Barbie dolls come to life. I mean, all thier magazines, TV shows, video games deal with 'girl' stuff...which most girls probably want nothing to do with.
And I've said it before: they give twins a bad name! Speaking as one myself. :D

*holds back urge to scream out "WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY"*
MAN...a Cartoon?? Oh..I'm at a loss for words...I'm speechless..I feel nausious...

It's still early, Failure!
Soon we'll see Mary knocking off liquor stores to pay for her drug habit and then blaming it on her 'evil twin Ashley'!
Or not....but one can wish!

Nah, I figured we will soon see the Olsen Twits doing movies for Eros. Eros puts out movies direct to video of a rather specific genre.

I saw an episode a few weeks ago. They were trying to stop a mad man from stealing the earth's water supply  I've never really cared much for the Olsen twins, and every time another one of their movies, video games, or TV shows come out, I think "They're STILL at it?" :p

Olsen Twins.... More perfect female sterotypes. They go perfect with Barbie....
This show is similar to the 70's animated show "The Brady Kids". They basicly added cute characters so kids would watch it. Same go's with the Olsens.

I'm just so incredibly thankful that we don't get ABC or whatever channel it's on!! I have managed to see the commercials though, and that was enough to burn my eyes out!! Oh the horror that is the Olsens.

Funny, I was gonna mention that same "although it's still early" point.

That's the one I unfortunatly stumbled upon. I also noted the really poor voice acting in the series. This series just looks really bad...and it looks like it belong on FOX KIDS. I'm still trying to forget the images...

Jeez! what are these people smoking to even put this crap on the air.I remeber way back then there was even a new kids on the block cartoon. It just goes to show you that there is too much bad programing on television these days

Well, now, give them the benefit of the doubt! How many of you would turn down the chance to have your own animated series! Especially if they threw enough cash at you for it. These girls are going to be stinking rich...well, they are, but if they play their cards right, they won't have to do any real work for the rest of their lives.

I saw part of one with a Brit who didn't bathe or was it just the foul cheese he ate? That's all I remember. Oh yeah, he wanted to block out the sun so that he wouldn't tan. Never mind that it would have been disastrous for life on Earth... Recess' movie seemed to forget that too, where the threat to summer was the only danger considered.
'Toon quality is really a matter of opinion, but I'd call the Olsen show bad myself... The celebrity cartoon genre is a pretty bad one, isn't it? Anyone read BeatleToons? So many writers aspire to books on "good toons" that it's funny reading one about one that the producers admit to as being 'bad'.

Since we are on the topic of BAD animated shows....what happened to the plans for the Britney Spears cartoon?

i'd check in with the lord of darkness on that one, since i'm pretty sure it's his project.

and I'm sure that I'm not alone, here; not necessarily at this board, but in general: the Olsen Twins look eerily attractive in cartoon form.
Also, any show that bumps "Sabrina: TAS" off the air certainly deserves a chance.

Hmm. "Crappy Cartoon Deathmatch," anyone?
As for the Olsen's, I still like Space Ghost's comment: "They look like those little troll dolls."

What? You mean the 16 gazillion Olsen Twins movies wasn't enough exposure? Now they get a cartoon? (sob) Why... won't... they... just... go... AWAY?!?!

would you willingly go away if you made their money? :)

Ah, yes. The only Olsen twin I ever liked. :D
Wait...okay, the Animated Sabrina went off the air!? (looks up at sky) Thank you...
...oh, and the Olsens have enough money in thier lives to last a lifetime already. They just like to come back to make sure they don't become hermits.
Oh, and how many think the Britney Spears cartoon will be as popular as the Beatles' one (which was rather popular, actually)? Yeah, I didn't think so either.
