Who did you choose?

George Newburn sounds more like Tim Daly, they chose very well when replacing Daly.

Newbern also sounds like an idiot. I'd rather have McDonald, who just makes Superman "sound more like his father as he gets older."
Of course, Daly is now available. They should just fire Newbern and sign on Daly. But for the sake of this thread, restrict the choices to the Newbern and McDonald. :)

I'm not really sure there's a choice. The JLU Superman is way in the future, like 40 years, so naturally his voice is going to be different. I don't think McDonald could work now for the JL Superman. I am happy with Neubeurn now. This is his first voice recording job EVER and he can't be good right off the bat. I'm giving him a chance and he's growing on nme.

Newbern has his shaky moments, but they're becoming more and more infrequent. No, he's no Tim Daly, but I think he's doing a great job so far, and will continue to get better as the series goes on.

I couldn't stand Christopher McDonald in The Call. He didn't "sound" like Superman should at any age. He was great as Jor-El, but George Newburn is perfect for Justice League.

Newbern getting better, just give the guy a break.

Why is everyone defending Newbern? He just doesn't fit as Superman (regardless of how much we all miss Daly and want to rationalize that the new guy is good). Even my wife thinks he sounds terrible (wimpy) and she's not even a fan. My son doesn't like this guy's voice and he had no problem with McDonald's voice in "The Call". Newburn just doesn't doesn't have the right voice, and even the delivery of his lines doesn't have the strength of character that Superman is supposed to have. Think of the actors of the past - George Reeves, Christopher Reeve, Tim Daly (heck even Dean Cain) all had some type of authority and strength in their voice and delivery of their dialogue. I know people are thankful to have a JL series - but don't be afraid to speak the truth. I'm surprised there isn't a "Bring back Tim Daly" petition out there. The series is a hit and WB and CN are going to make a ton of $$$. They should do it right. Just like they did for the previous series. This stuff just ain't as good as World's Finest, etc. I cringe everytime Superman talks. As much as I loved the other stuff - I can't rationalize the faults away on this series. :(

I dont think people are defending Newbern for the sake of defending him. It's all just personal tastes really. I liked McDonald as Jor-El, but he did not sound good as Superman in the Call. I actually do like Newbern so far, and I was skeptikal at first. I'd still prefer Tim Daly, but c'mon folks, that's not going to happen. Time to face the facts.

Actually, I believe that Tim Daly is now available to do the voice... so what they should really do is ditch fake-Daly and get Tim back on the show.
And while they're at it, they need to make the red in Superman's costume a little less glaring.

I really dont think backstabbing Newbern is the way to go about this.

I THINK TIM DALY AND GEORGE NEWBERN HAS THE BEST VOICE OF SUPERMAN. CHRIS M DOESN"T HAVE THE VOICE
OF SUPERMAN. 1 GEORGE NEWBERN SOUNDS LIKE TIM DALY.
2 STILL WB SHOULD GET TIM DALY BACK AS SUPERMAN.
and TIM DALY is not doing no tv series right now.
TIM DALY SHOULD BE DOING VOICE OF SUPERMAN.

Just so you know, all caps is a very distracting way of writing a post. It not only could be misinterpreted as you yelling at us, but it's difficult to read. Please use proper capitalization or none at all. I don't mean to come off so obnoxiously, but I personally have a little trouble getting through posts with all caps.
And Failure, firing George Newbern is not backstabbing him. It's called "trading up." Wouldn't you prefer Tim Daly over any possible voice for Superman?

Neubeurn is here to stay folks. Tim Daly is NOT returning. Anyways, this thread is quickly sinking into a flame war between those who like/hate Neubeurn, so please get back on track. I don't want to have to hand out warnings. There is personnel preferences and fighting about it is not going to solve anything or bring Daly back. The debate is between Neubeurn and McDonald so please keep it on that.

Ok, this will be my final reply for the Newbern vs. Daly digression that's taken place.
If Newbern's contract ran out and Daly was available, I'd be happy if they tried to get Daly back. But to cut Newbern out during mid-contract when though he hasnt done anything wrong besides not being Tim Daly, I dunno, I think that's arguably unethical and basically just mean. It's bad PR to do stuff like that.
No flames intended. :D

While I probably would've prefered McDonald, after hearing Neubern, I like him.
Get off his back, he's doing a great job.
