Here is a great tribute to the various incarnations of Superman over the years. The video really emphasizes why he still sets the standard.
Hope you like it.

I always like hearing that song, but it would have been nice if there was slightly more connection between the music and the video. Too often fan videos like these fail to really connect, as it just seems like a random slideshow with music. Also, leaving the original sound on the clips seemed kind of distracting as well.
I hope you don't take my comments to personally. I know quite a lot of work goes into making these, I am just offering a little constructive criticism.
I wish I could find that really nice Over The Edge/Linkin Park video that was doing the rounds a few years ago. It was very predictable in its choice of music, but it was really well put together, as it was mixed in with the actual music video for the song, and since it didn't have to fill 3 minutes+ with Batman, the flow and timing worked really well.

Hope you like it.I did. To be honest this is about the first time I have really cared for that song. I don't know why, but I just never really cared for it. Personally, I thought the scenes fit very well with the music and I like some of the transitions, like the Fleischer Clark becoming the movie one.

He made that one and then made one for Heart of Ice using Papa Roach's "Last Resort" (which was my suggestion ;) ). Heart of Ice (http://wf.toonzone.net/WF/heartofice/) won the "playoff" poll by one vote. By my search of World Finest's it does not appear we have the videos though.

Given the choice of song and similar cuts, I presume Borg4of3 did the second improved version as well. If anybody out there has the second version, please post it, as I seem to have lost mine, and it was a definite keeper.

I hate to take away from the Superman talk, but what was different about it?
I found the video. Unfortunatly, everytime I clicked on it, AOL kicked me off. It's in the Best Batman Poll Round 2, Part 2, which can be found in our talkback collection. :)

Hmmm, I do not recall there being a second one. I hate to take away from the Superman talk, but what was different about it?The first one was just pure "Over The Edge" animation, and it kind of dragged a little, as 3 minutes+ is kind of a long time to fill from just a single 22 minute episode. The second version was mixed in with the actual Linkin Park video for the song, and although I am not a big fan of the song or the band, I have to admit the video was really well put together and had a flow many fanboy videos lack.
I am not sure it was ever posted around here, so I could be wrong in assumung Borg4of3 made it. I got it from a friend, and I think he got it off one of the P2P networks. I was certain I made a backup of it, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

I liked the clips that were used, that's a lot of Superman (although not much STAS). Can't say the same for the song, I'm afraid. Sure, it's a nice song, but is this really an accurate portrayal of Superman?

Now, that was cool. It really brought back a lot of great memories for me, having grown up on George Reeves re-runs. I always liked the song and to see it set to the various incarnations of Superman was GREAT. Other than wishing to have seen more S: TAS and Superboy, this was neat. Thank you very much!

No, I didn't make the one Supremus was talking about, and would love to see it posted somewhere. Thanks for the criticism on mine, tho I feel that that episode is, surprisingly, very action intensive, and almost all the scenes in that fit my interpretation of the song.
I'm loving the Superman MV if only because I've never ever seen most of these old Fleischer and George Reeves shots (the closest being a parody in Robot Chicken :p) I think the sound helps it, emphasizing the powers when they come into play, especially the various flight sounds. I don't think any MV should try to make ever scene chosen fit every line of music, especially in this case where its less about telling a story, altho it does that, and more about the character of Superman himself.

It was clear you had done the best job possible to fit the clips/edits to the music, and it was really only after seeing the 2nd, slightly "tighter" version that I thought yours felt a bit long.
It's really starting to bug me that I lost the other video now. I have been reminded of it the last few times people have posted their videos around here, and then I've just sort of forgottten about it. I am going to have another dig through my backups and see if I can find it. If I do, does anyone know a good, free webhosting service? Geocities' 4mb limit is a bit weak for big videos like that.

Yay! I managed to find the video! It's 36mb, though, so I need some webspace. Does anyone know a good free host, or can anyone host it themselves?

Sorry, Supremus, I can't think of a single one nowadays. The only thing I can recommend is http://www.yousendit.com/, which isn't really used for hosting, but can be temporarily. After the file is uploaded, it'll show a link to the file, and it will be available for 7 days before its automatically removed. You don't really have to email to anyone, just c&p the link after uploading. Well, its worth a shot!
