i just have one question about, possibly a problem with "the enemy below." while it was great to see aquaman, and even that great guest appearance by deadshot (i was totally surprised! :D)...i noticed that diana isn't being used to her full potential. is her lassso the lasso of truth, like in the comics? i guess not. see, when deadshot refused to tell the JL who was behind the hit on aquaman, why didn't diana use the lasso to get him to tell the turth? it has that power...! hmm...it just bothers me. essentially now, we have a female superman on th team. i figured WW would get to use all her assets. i still love her character, coming off naive and all, but she could be portrayed as a bit different than the rest with all the super strength and flying....

I am glad I am not the only one to think of that, even tho i liked how Batman handled it. And what is going on with the animation? Batman and WW just look to cartoony I guess the Batman beyond and animated have spoiled me.

Dude! I was thinking the same thing :)
when they zoomed in to WW, I was thinking WW was going to use her lasso of truth on Deadshot! :( I was wrong bats took care of it. But I knew it was J'onn in disgused as aquaman, too obvious for me :D

Howdy all,
My personal suspicion is that the writers thought of using Diana's magic lasso for it, and decided to throw us a curve instead. It's a surprise, son. The close-up shot of Diana while they're saying Deadshot won't tell them anything was deliberate, IMO -- it was something to lead you on to a conclusion and then surprise you with the alternative. People who aren't huge comics geeks like us would have bleeped right over it.
Of course, I'm not a JL writer, nor do I play one on TV, so maybe the writers just forgot.

Here's my theory....take it with.. oh, I dunno.
anyway..WW knows about the LoT, the rest of the JL..doesn't. Batman's pretty intimidating, he's holds his own against the Man of Steel, so Diana might be a little intimidated..so rather than going - "I could tie him up and he'll tell the truth" she lets batman scare him into submission. Plus, she gets to hold onto it in reserve

Call me The World's Greatest Detective.
No, I'm not a pervert, but I couldn't understand why they didn't use the lasso.
You all say that it zoomed in on the lasso when she approached Deadshot. Uh uh. Listen to his lines. He's looking her over! Then she frowns when she realizes this...
He says..."Professional ethics"
Then it shows his view as he checks her out.
Then she frowns. Kind of a..."How dare you?" thing...
Then, liking what he sees, he says the thing about making it worth his while...
Then Batman, who realizes what just happened, takes care of him. Kind of..."We got your back, Diana..."
Maybe that's part of the reason Superman said Wonder Woman wouldn't want to know what Batman whispered...

I posted this elsewhere, but I didn't know that there was a specific thread for it. So, here goes:
True, they could have used Wonder Woman's Golden Lasso of Truth in order to get the information from Deadshot, but do they even know that it does that yet? They rest of the League probably doesn't know that it is available to them yet, and Wonder Woman was distracted because she was still in shock about Deadshot hitting on her (assuming, of course, that even she knows the lasso's power!).

I seriously think that she doesn't know the lasso has that power yet. In the show, she did just become Wonder Woman really so she may not be aware of everything she is capable of doing.

Maybe they were afraid that his response under Lasso of Truth would somehow involve WW without her clothes on.

That makes sense...I was wondering why she didn't use the lasso.

Exactly! She's a rookie on the team, the newest hero, so she probably doesn't know half of her potential yet. I think this may be reveale din her two part episode, personally. There she'll learn more about herself and her powers.

Has it been established yet that the lasso has this power in the animated series? This may be just another power down of one of the characters, just simplying tying people up in order to spill the beans is kind of any easy way out.
