Just The Way You Are



You’ve told me that they want you to change,

To be somebody you’re not,

But I want you to stay the same,

Lies ensnare, please don’t get caught.



I don’t know if you know this yet,

But you’re an inspiration to me,

You’re courageous heart your gentle spirit,

I hope that’s how it’ll always be.



I’m so amazed that you give your love,

As if you’ve never been hurt,

You’re so trusting, so uncaring of,

All of the things that jade and burn.



You told me it was hurting you,

I wish I could make it go away,

But all I can do, is help you through,

And tell you our friendship is here to stay.



Others may tell you to change your ways,

But you’re my favorite person and I hope that our,

Friendship will be here to stay,

Because I love you, just the way you are.
