Before STAS premiered, I remember seeing some "animated style" drawings of Lex Luthor II (Lex with the full red hair and beard, from the early-1990's comics). Not sure if they were done by Timm or just in his style. Does anyone know if there are any images of this character on the web?

Hmm...the drawings you saw are probably from the Batman Adventures issue where he meets Superman, who, like Lex II, looked a lot more like his then-current comics (with the long hair and what-not) incarnation than he would in Superman: TAS. This issue predated Superman: TAS by several years, and I don't remember who drew it, but it definately wasn't Bruce Timm. Before S:TAS and JL, there was actually quite a bit of DCAU kid's merchandise under the DC Kids banner: story books, coloring books, etc. Since there were no designs from TV shows to take of for all the characters except Superman, the designs were original and much different than they ended up being. You probably saw these pictures of Luthor from some of this merchandise. I saw this version of Luthor in a DCAU-style book I had, "The True Story of Superman" when I was about 7.
