Folks, am I hallucinating, or was that the unmistakable ascerbic verbal sting of the great Kevin Spacey? If not, it could be his clone (and wouldn't **that** be a noble use of the technology!). Didn't get to tape it, and the credits flashed by tachistoscopically quick! Help; I'm obsessing!

Welcome to the boards Noocyte.
Nope not Kevin Spacey. Actually it was Michael Rosenbaum aka The Flash or Lex Luthor in Smallville.

Thanx for the reply, and for the welcome. Alas, it seems I owe my wife 20 bucks. So it goes...

How do Timm & co. manage to rope all of these notable actors to do the voice acting (both regular cast and guest spots)?
I'm new, and was pleasantly surprised to see some of these names, like Rosenbaum, the Odo guy from DS9, LaMarr, etc...
I haven't been this impressed since first-season Gargoyles...

Quality shows attract quality actors?
Or maybe Timm & co. have some secret mafia thing going on.

The DS9 guy is named Rene Auborjoinois (SP?). He talked for Kanjar Ro and one of the Guardians of the universe. I guess the animation is so expensive that they can't afford several different voice actors. This kind of practice was used a lot on the Superfriends. Anyway Rene's Star Trek roles were ausome. I love Star Trek as well as Justice League. I watch Enterprise all the time. Haven't missed and episode yet. By the way, Rene Auborjoinois also voiced Desaad on the Superfriends and Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians. He also talked for the scientist on the Go-Bots cartoon...and his voice credits go and on and on...

Actually, that is not the case everytime. Usally, voice actors request to voice more than one character. This is an example of this. Micheal Rosenbuam has voiced four or five charatcers in Batman Beyond, and has done two, so far, on JL. Most actors really enjoy the voice acting process.

Carter Wilson (Terminal), in Batman Beyond, Ollie in "Where's Terry?"; Ghoul in Return of the Joker; many other supporting parts. For more voice actors, check out Maxie's site!

I'm not sure, but it sounded like Rosenbaum did the voice of the surfer too in "Enemy Below"

For the record, this isn't the first appearance of Rene Auberjonois. He was Doctor March in On Leather Wings and Terror in the Sky

I understand what you are saying, JLL, and it's true to a certain degree, but still very different. Let me elaborate.
While certain actors do provide the voices for multiple characters in a single episode occasionally, (like Rene Auberjonios in "In Blackest Night"), it's not really done that often.
In the days of the Superfriends, that show along with others like G.I. Joe or Transformers or The Smurfs, used the same group of actors for EVERY show. So when a new character or villian showed up in an episode of Transformers, one of the actors from the that set group provided the voice. They never hired on anybody new to portray a new character who only appeared in one episode.
That is the big difference in the TAS shows (and a lot of other cartoons today). Actors are brought in to read for just one character in just one episode and that's it. While there are exceptions (as mentioned above and in the case of Rosenbaum doing the voice of Deadshot), the casting of cartoons has changed considerably.
