The Family Guy returns to Fox on Wednesdays at 9:30 starting July 11. The odd thing is, FOX seems to indicate these are five new episodes -- despite the fact that the show is said to have secured a regular Thursday timeslot this autumn.

Geez, they aren't wasting much time in bringing back "Family Guy"....guess they didn't want the public to (completely) forget its existence with how long it's been off the air...

It would be a crime to forget this great show!

I think most of us would have to be locked up, then.

I wish I could be guilty of fogetting Family Guy...I try so hard too. But just when I think I've succeeded, the memories come back to haunt me again!
YYYYYYAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
It's horrific, really.

Let's be fair; Stewie, and sometimes Brian, were capable of being pretty darned funny.
As I've said before, what I'll like to see Fox do is give those two their own show. They could format it as a more cynical take-off on 'Peabody and Sherman.'

I never knew you liked the show, calhouno7. The show was a bit qweird, but it did have it's occasional moments, the best being the Kool Aid Man Courthouse scene.

True, but Stewie doesn't count because he's 100% plagarized. I'd just try to do a new show with Brian, and let the rest die horribly in a dip shower.

This show borrowed alot from others show, and while it didn't work alot, there were a few instances. Some of their gags worked, I'll admit. The voice, for the most part, were okay. Saome were blatant rip offs, others fit the characters. I may watch this show if there's nothing else on...

I'd make it 85%. That voice actor* doing his voice does manage to produce some distinctive inflections.
* What's that guy's name, anyway? He's good enough to watch out for. Or listen for.

The voice is by Seth McFarlane, who is also the creator or the show and the voice of the ultra-annoying father. Judging from what I've seen of the show, I'd only watch out for him if I met him in a dark alley. ;)
I guess Stewie and Brian are ok. I honestly find even them kind of predictable usually. But I didn't watch the show as much as some of you, so I may have missed some good moments.

That's zero seven, sir! :)
And here I thought the head moderator had to like read EVERY post on the boards! On the old boards, I was often found defending this show in the onslaught of attacks! :p
You know, I can't remember the site, but there was a message board I looked in on once where it seemed like everybody except a small few loved Family Guy! It was like an alternate reality from these boards, the opinions on the show were so reversed.

AKA "Homer Simpson" ripoff (or rather, "Jerk***** Homer"-*squared*)

Heh...

STEWIE: *PREDICTABLE*?! Hardly, you fanboy buffoon! I'm very much poised to take back the spotlight via our show's return to its rightful prime-time timeslot, *and* ensure that those "Fiends"...ooh, sorry, (sarcastically) *"Friends"*....days are numbered! Meanwhile, I suppose you'll be catching that large-headed *rat* on some dreary cable channel somewhere....ooh, ooh, hey Brain, if you're watching, here's a tip for you: "Nickelodeon + Nickelodeon equals....a washed-up world-dictator wannabe sharing a timeslot with 'Keenan and Kel'!" HA! Here's a line you can use: "The same thing we do every night, Pinky---collect unemployment!" (Laughs) Oh, *lord* I'm funny....
[Cut to ACME Labs...we see Brain's steaming mad, and is trying to claw at the TV screen, but Billie and Pinky are holding him back...]
BRAIN: (Irate) *WASHED UP*?!? (Sounds of annoyance a la his New Hampshires Pineapples baseball coaching)
BILLIE: (Straining to hold him back) Eggy, just ignore him, *please*?! For us?? I mean, he'll probably go on to be cancelled again sooner than you can say "burning off episodes"... (Brain calms down)
BRAIN: Maybe so...
PINKY: Um, that, or pick up another Emmy, POIT! (Brain, annoyed by that thought, goes into a rage again, and Billie and Pinky restrain him once more...)
BILLIE: (Sighs) Well, it could be worse...
PINKY: Um, how so?
BILLIE: (Thinks, but can't think of anything) Eh, you're right. Better start renting videos on Thursday nights...or start watchin' "Nature" on PBS....
PINKY: Ooooh, the life cycle of the tree-sloth! I can hardly wait! HAHAHAHA!
:-)

That was....a time-killer....
Well, I actually liked Family Guy. I would watch it over the summer when there was nothing else on. Plus, Thursdays this fall, against Survivor and Friends...I'll be heading over to Fox to watch Family Guy and check out The Tick. Maybe because there was nothing else on, that's why I watched it, but hey, everyone has different tastes.
Interesting to note: I'm pretty positive that Seth McFarlene (sp.) is the same guy who created Johnny Bravo. Anyone know for sure?

Umm, no. That would be Van Partible. But McFarlane was heavily involved in the first generation of Cartoon Cartoons.
Oh, my bad. I read that McFarlene was involved with some Johnny Bravo and misinterpetated that he was the creator of the show. :D But thanks for the correction though.

Mcfarlene was one of the writers and was also responsible for some of the WAC toons.
