Is the Batman DTV confirmed? canned? rumored? whats the status??

Well, we heard many moons ago that there were going to be 3 Batman DTVs (one possobly being a JL, one having the slightest possobility of being BB, and 1+ definatly being BTAS, but we dont know if it'll be BTAS, TNBA, or JL style) released around the time the ROTJ un cut, Batman TAS DVD, and Worlds Finest (and etc) are being released.

But alas, there has been scarce to no news on if the DTV are for POSITIVE, or even what they would be about.

The DTVs won't be ready for an April release, but should arrive in 2002 given that WB gives them the greenlight (which I'm pretty sure they are gonna do or already have). They DTVs will focus on Batman (sorry, no 'chick fights') teaming up with DCU characters like Green Arrow. The wierd thing is, if all 3 are greenlighted, each will be done in a different style. One will be done in BTAS, another in TNBA, and another with the JL look. But that is according to rumor so that is not finalized either. All we can do it wait.

OK this is wacky but I think it would be awesome if they did a Marvel DC crossover movie, I dont mean they should get wacky or anything and combine to make darkclaw or somthing I just mean like two dimensions cross and the X-Men must Team with the Justice League to fight a greater enemy whos existence threatens both worlds (maybhe onslought or somthing) or maybe a movie where he has to fight a predator, I think a crossover could be intergated into the animated universe if done right and I think it could be super cool

only the problem is if its x-men/JL I bet they would use that God awful X-Men evolution team rather than one more faithful or similar to Fox's old show

I know that its possibility is probably dead, but wasn't there a rumour a wee while back that said that a BB DTV would focus on Nightwing or something along those lines?

yeah there was but DG told me the BB team has split 5 ways yow! so theyd always be too busy, maybe the JL team or parts of the BB (wow I am using alot of initials! ;) )team could return and make a DTV (there I go again)

I thought that was wishful thinking on our part and not necessarilly based on any offical word. I might be wrong, but I thought the only thing Dini said they had planned for Nightwing was if they went on to do another season of Batman Beyond.

I _think_ Dini said that he would like for the second DTV to focus on Nightwing, so we had at least that to go on. Ah well, moot point now...

But... when the Bruce Timm interview goes up, you'll get to see what he wanted to tackle in the second one... or rather, who. heh heh heh.

A poster who hasn't been here for awhile, xbuilder, put up this:

Paul Dini is writing a new direct to video project as we speak called

it will include...

one yet undisclosed team up.
