Ruff & Ready(from Boomerang 12/3)

Well, I finally saw my first R&R cartoon show today via taping from Boomerang last night.

I wasn't aware it was a serialized "adventure". Boy, was it talkin'-to-the-kiddies and very exposition-heavy or what!

I was less surprised to see the really bad animation. The early Yogis, where he has light brown around the eyes as well as his snout area, are pretty bad themselves. The attempts at silouhette were badly composed. Other than it being of archaival interest (and, in that way, interesting), I haven't been missing much.

The early Yogi cartoons have the most limted animation, but the best plots. As H-B got a little more $$$ from Columbia to do their next two series of Yogi shorts, the animation was done a little better, but he lost his slightly surly side and became the blander happy-go-luck character we know today. Bad for story options, good for selling Kellogg's OKs cerial.
