View Full Version : Question about "Unmasked"

Why exactly is "Unmasked" considered the series finale? Was it meant to be the season closer? Was #47 just production order or meant to be aired in that order?
It's making me confused. I would think Countdown or The Call seem more epic in nature than a story about Terry -sorta- revealing his identity, but obviously coming out okay, since it's told through flashbacks! Sort of doesn't make it that tense or dramatic enough, in my opinion.

Unmasked wasn't meant to be the series finale, but it was the only episode not aired, and since it's the last new episode it's considered the series finale. And #47 is the production number. And The Call was meant to be the season finale, becuase that was going to lead into season 4, which would have involved ALOT more JLU action.

So why don't they just consider "The Call" to be the series finale? I dunno. Maybe I'm just blathering.

It's not considered that becuase WB jumped the gun and aired it in November. New episodes aired after that, therefore nixing it's ability to be the series finale. Unmasked is the final new episodes, therefore holds the title as series finale, even though it wasn't supposed to be.

Still......that doesn't make too much sense.
If UPN aired the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air finale early, and then a couple of earlier episodes later, would you really consider those 'lost episodes' to be more final than one of the family moving out?
Just a bad analogy. *shrug*

No, it doesn't - but that is how it is. If you want, then feel free to consider episodes #52 (Countdown) the series finale. It all comes down as to what last new episodes airs last. That's why Batman's Mad Love is considered the series finale, even though it's episode #106 out of #109. Superman's Legacy is the series finale, yet is only episode #48 out of 54.

Well, UPN runs it now, anyway. As does TBS.
Whatever. :p
