Brubaker Confirms 'Gotham Central'

In an interview at www.sequentialtart.com , Ed Brubaker confirmed that DC will be doing a crime comic called Gotham Central focusing on our favorite police department! He says:

"I also will be co-writing Gotham Central with Greg Rucka, trading off every three issues or so."

There are so many existing Batman titles... yet another one in the offing? Wasn't 'Detective' supposed to handle the crime type of story in the first place??

True - there are too many Batman titles, but this one I am really anxious for. A good thing is that Detective Comics can focus on the detective aspect of Batman. I really like the GCPD plots and characters and I'm glad to see them get their own title. Now if only DC would can Azrael: Agent of the Bat...

Same here...actually - I'm sure of it. I just hope DC doesn't price it at $2.50. I just hate paying $4.25CAN plus tax for a book. If the title is 40 pages...then I can accept. But if it's 32 pages? Nooo...I can barely afford Catwoman, and I definatly want Gotham Central.

Well, I am dropping Gotham Adventures, so that will be 2 bucks each month that I'll save. I definitely want to get Gotham Central!!

I just have a gut feeling DC will price this at 2.50, but I really hope they make it a regular size title. I really don't notice the difference in paper between a 2.25 comic and a 2.50 comic, so the price change seems idiotic. Still...Rucka and Brubaker on one title promises great things. And this Micheal Lark guy sounds like a talented artist.
