I know that everyone has seen the ONSTAR commercial about winning a part in the next Bat film. funny, we still don't now which is coming first. I know many may not agree with me, but I want Batman Beyond sould go first because it's fresh on my mind and besides, I feel they should take a little more time to get over the train wreck that was B & R. It's just my opinion....

umm...to the best of my knowledge, BB is dead @ the moment..no more show, no more comic...and I don't think there was ever a movie idea.

Since the Batman Beyond movie has been officially declared dead, this debate can go only one way, thankfully! Go Year One!

Sorry. I liked BB, it would have rocked in a real movie. Live Action or Animated?

Live action.

Another DTV (which Timm will reveal plot points to tomorrow in the interview) was planned featuring Catwoman. The live action would have been a more mature re-telling of Batman Beyond's origin. Both will now neevr come to pass.

I think BB was put on hold actually, I mean I guess I shouldnt clash with DG he is the bat expert but last I heard it was just on hold, but I dont think Batman Beyond is gone forever, maybe the show comic and movie are dead, maybe not, they could always get new teams to reboot the series sometime in the future, or maybe a new series, I think a return to Terry Mcguiness' world after Justice League's run would be quite a treat, if or until then I will always wonder what happened to my friend Terry Mcguiness... no im not skitzo who think she friends with an animated character im only joking :P

I think a Batman Beyond movie would have been horrid. Batman Beyond to me is not Batman! I cannot wait till Year One comes out - that is going to rock.
I also enjoy the Onstar commercials.

Ya gotta admit -- the Onstar commercials are better then the last two movies combined...

I agree! I mean back to the old car and costume.
I did enjoy Val Kilmer's Batman though.

I don't think people do justice to Batman Forever. It was part of the Schumacher era- which crumbled the franchise with B&R- but it was actually a great movie. Jim Carrey's Riddler is by far the best live action villiain, and although sometimes too campy, it was soooo much better than Batman Returns I can't even tell you.

Maybe in your opinion, but for those of us that have a hatred for Jim Carrey, and a real love for the more refined version of the Riddler that was being presented in the animated universe, Carrey's Riddler came off as probably the worst live action villian.

all I know is that watchign Batman torch that guy in Batman Returns brought a smile to my face, with Batman Forever, I was walking out of the theatre thinking ::oh well a bit too campy and harvey dent magically turned from Lando into Tomy Lee Jones but good movie:: I ran out of Batman and Robin screaming (okay not really it was more like sulking becuase the whole franchise was just destroyed before my eyes, I pray Year One will fix everything and start off a new plot line that doesnt turn into a campy rainbow filled fruit fest

Personally Pete, it sounds too confusing for the casual fan.
Now then...
I have nothing against Batman Forever. You just have to step back and look at the movies as separate entities. I mean...Kilmer did a hell of a job as Bruce Wayne AND Batman. The Robin origin was told in a fresh new way, and Jim Carrey's Riddler was based on the one in 1966 by Frank Gorshin. Yes it had it's campy moments, but it also had it's darker ones. Has anyone ever seen the scenes that have been cut out? It makes a much darker movie with them in. Read the novelization. It involves Bruce discovering that he ISN'T responsible for his parent's deaths, and also theres a scene where he faces down a giant bat, kind of a hallucination. I've seen pics. The thing is a giant bat, and Val is just staring at it. For me...I liked Batman Forever because of the backstory about Bruce's demons...

Wasn't near as campy as "Batman & Robin."
