What are some TV specials, movies, what have you, that you just have to watch at this time every year? Me? I watch:

Jim Henson's the Christmas Toy (my all-time favorite)
A Muppet Family Christmas
A Garfield Christmas

For me, it's not officially (sp?) the holiday season until I watch these :) Yeah, go ahead and laugh. I'm a dork :p

YAY, my first thread! And it turns out that Excite@home only pulled the plug on AT&T users, so I'm back on (for now).

For me, its not the Christmas season until I've watched:

A Christmas Story
It's A Wonderful Life
Christmas with the Joker and/or Holiday Knights
And at least one of the old clay-mation classics

The Grinch (Chuck Jones, I don't think I'll ever see the live action one)

That's the one that I really HAVE to see, but I also like the Muppet specials that Elven Moon mentioned. Do you know if those will those be playing on Odyssey this year, Elven Moon? If not, I might have to scrounge around for the copies I taped off of the Disney Channel.

Also, Christmas with the Joker, and The Night Before Christmas (Tom & Jerry) are great.

Any classic theatrical Christmas cartoons help me get in the Christmas spirit.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Gremlins.

For me, the holidays aren't the holidays without watching The Grinch Who Stole Christmas and A Christmas Carol (any version).

Although I prefer the animated Grinch to Jim Carrey's version, I really enjoyed the movie, and I'll likely watch both versions this year.

Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer, A Charlie Brown Christmas Special, A Christmas Story, The Santa Clause, Miracle on 34th Street, It's a Wonderful Life (which I missed, unfortunately) and anything that airs on ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas. I LOVE the Holiday season and I can't miss Holiday specials.

To survive the holiday season, I need the following cinema:

A Garfield Christmas
A Charlie Brown Christmas
White Christmas
Lemon Drop Kid
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
The Grinch (animated, the live action one is blasphemy!)
the Patrick Stewart version of a Christmas Carol (a new fave)

and any Xmas flick around!

No, I don't get Odyssey, so I have no idea. You could probably check their webpage or something, though ;)

*smacks forehead* HOW could I forget A Charlie Brown Christmas? And if I feel like it: Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, A Chipmunk Christmas, Smurf's Christmas (the name escapes me). Oh yes, and when I was little, I watched Santa Claus: The Movie every year. I don't watch it so much anymore. Sure it wasn't that great a movie, but...

All the holiday specials I watch were taped from the TV was I was a kid, so even the commercials of yesterday spread a little holiday spirit :)

I actually haven't had a full sitting of "It's a Wonderful Life," but this year is the time to do it, as I've "discovered" Capra recently.

"A Christmas Story."--Gotta love the kid who gets his tongue stuck on the pole.

"Scrooged", "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation", "Lethal Weapon"...and I must convince myself to watch "Die Hard" this year. Everyone else has gotten over the September 11th attacks...I must, too, or I shall be an outcast for all eternity.

Sincerely,

my "THING" must be "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". It's my absolute favorite.

And this year, I'm thinking Grinch vs. Jim Carry Grinch! hehehe...that'll take up all Christmas Eve for me!

Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol is my number one favorite, followed closely by Rankin-Bass' Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Chuck Jones' How The Grinch Stoel Christmas.

A newer special I really like is Olive The Other Reindeer.
