Just out of curiosity, are new users being issued a smaller avatar than 75X75?

I've noticed alot of new users having smaller avatars so I was just wondering if that was the case.

Nope. You can use any size dimensioned avatar at or under 75x75, so the newbies you speak of are either just using avatars from other boards which are lower res.
