I'm surprised nobody started this by now. It's out, so discuss, for everyone who doesn't will be forced to ride the piggy of shame. I ride the piggy as I type this. The piggy is smelly!

Disk 2: "Jack-Jack Attack",Boundin' short, Bloopers and Outtakes, Deleted Scenes With Alternate Opening, Top Secret Files On All The Supers, Behind The Scenes "Making Of" The Incredibles, And Much More!

Of the extras on Disc 2, the following are the main highlights comedy-wise:

1. The Syndrome scene in "Jack-Jack Attack" (in which Syndrome comes up with a funny lie to explain the S on his outfit).
2. The "Mr. Incredible and Friends" cartoon (especially the commentary, in which Frozone bashes the show big time).

Great special features. Jack Jack attack is hilarious, though I preferred the Mr. Incredible and friends episode. The bloopers and deleted scenes are entertaining and the Behind the scenes thing was very informative. Definetly one of my favorite DVDs ever.

it just meandered, plus I reaaaallllly dislike history and NPR, and she's heavily involved in both

One thing I need to say:

On disc 2, go to the set up menu and wait about 20 seconds until an image of the Omnidroid appears on the top right corner of the screen. Highlight the Omnidroid and press enter. This will take you to an Easter egg that invovles a sock puppet re-telling of the film.

thanks for the heads up, i usually suck at finding extras Trust me, there's a lot of Easter eggs on disc 2. To find them, you have to wait on certain screens until the Omnidroid appears, then highlight it can press enter on the remote. In fact, some screens contain TWO eggs, with a different one appearing if you repeat the process after you view the first egg.

The presentation of the deleted scenes were great. It's the best type of deleted scenes I've ever seen. If we're lucky, we usually just get a snippet about why it was cut, but here, they went all out. I'm impressed, I thought the features for this were actually going to suck!

And Jack Jack Attack may be the funniest thing ever. :)

I watched the movie twice on Thursday night with the two commentaries. I found it funny how the animators were uneasy that they didn't animate certain scenes well enough- the animator's philosophy is that you're never satisfied with the job you did; you always feel you could do more. ;) And I was thinking, "No, don't beat yourself up! You did an excellent job!"

I also found it interesting how Pixar taught them to tone down their squash/stretch tendencies that you first learn as an animator, because it apparently doesn't translate as well into computer animation.

Gonna check out disc 2 sometime in the next week.

I missed this movie in the theaters, but I watched it at a friend's house last week and now I wish I hadn't missed it! I picked up my own copy today because this movie was great. I liked all the people they chose for the voices, and the little short lady that did their costumes (can't remember her name right now) was a riot. :D

As far as the extras go, Jack Jack Attack was of course funny (that babysitter is great...). I forget where exactly this was on Disc 2, but there was a scene done in black and white sketches that was set in Dash's classroom and showed him putting signs on the teacher's back and such. I'm assuming it was a scene they decided not to do, but the little lecture that the teacher gave had my friend and I practically rolling on the floor. Perhaps it's only because he's a teacher and I used to be a teacher...but it was pretty hilarious. :anime:

"Jack-Jack Attack" was pretty funny, but I thought the Bloopers were terrible. I usually love Pixar's bloopers, but they just weren't funny this time around. Those are the only special features I checked out last night when I watched the movie. I was really disappointed with the flick, so I didn't bother watching any of the other stuff.

"Jack-Jack Attack" was pretty funny, but I thought the Bloopers were terrible. I usually love Pixar's bloopers, but they just weren't funny this time around. That's because unlike the other Pixar titles, in which bloopers were written to make it appear that the characters are all actors in a film, the "bloopers" that appear on the Incredibles disc consist of actual screw ups that appear in the early stages of production and little comical things that the Pixar animation sneak in during this process (a la the "When She Loved Me" Easter Egg that appears in the Toy Story 1&2 collector's set).

I bought the DVD and watched the film with and without the director commentary. I found the commentary pretty bland and redundant as Brad Bird just repeated a lot of the same stuff you find in the two "Making Of" specials.

I was surprised that none of the voice actors (other than Bird) were featured or interviewed for the "Making Of" specials. The Jack-Jack featurette was hilarious.

With the second and third act so strong, I am really hoping to see a sequel as the family really started to bond and function as a team in the end.

Watched the disc 2 special features this morning.

Wow, really different alternate intro. Had some unique bits, but I can see why they cut it- went on way too long. And I'm glad they ditched the old pilot that died during the plane scene, which was in the deleted scenes. He added nothing.

The making-ofs were good as usual. Best part was Bird's struggle with the budget department.

They really did the photo gallery well. Usually when there's a photo gallery, you have no idea how many slides there are to shuffle through. But on this DVD, they split up the slides into different categories like Locations and Character Sketches and have little dots to represent how many slides per category. It's very nicely done, and I wish more DVDs would do the same.

Loved Frozone's line in the character interviews: "You can't spell justice without Just... Ice." :D

I loved the different bios they had on all the superheroes along with grouping them into teams. Its too bad the film didn't have more villains aside from Syndrome and Bomb Voyage.

I loved the featurettes and seeing Brad Bird being so energetic around the Pixar crew. I found the animators' commentary more interesting than Bird's on the first disc.

I finally bought the DVD today and just finished hearing the first commentary and seeing the extra features on Disc 2.

Jack Jack Attack was both hilarous and extremely cute especially when the baby is engulf in fire and starts wandering around the living room. The Cletch Cargo parody was just brilliant and I liked the background info on all those super heroes. One thing I really liked about the commentary is when Brad Bird spoke of his disgust with people who consider animation to be just one genre but that it's a medium that can tackle just about any type of genre.

Got this he other day. Not sure if someone already may of asked this (I just scanned the topic quickly) but does anyone know where the sock-puppet show easter egg is on the UK release? On the US release it's on the 2nd disc's Set up section, but the UK one doesn't have that section. I hope it didn't get removed.

lol... the Bloopers are HILARIOUS!!!

Pixar's bloopers are always so funny.
After watching the bloopers again I didn't feel the same way about them. They were just some goofs not like messing up in lines or anything. Figured out they weren't as funny as other Pixar's bloopers. Maybe I was just in a really happy mood at that time .

Jack Jack Attack was funnier. Jack Jack going through the walls and through the floors and ceilings was funny. Driving Kari [spelling?] insane was funnier. And that joke made when Syndrome showed up. When he was the "Sitter" and had an "S" on his shirt instead of a "Baby Sitter" with a "BS" on his shirt. haha

Does anyone have a guess (based on how past Pixar releases have been handled, etc.) regarding whether this will be the DVD release for The Incredibles, or whether there will be an even better version down the road?

Does anyone have a guess (based on how past Pixar releases have been handled, etc.) regarding whether this will be the DVD release for The Incredibles, or whether there will be an even better version down the road? Toy Story, Toy Story 2, and the original A Bug's Life DVDs were all bare bones. Monsters Inc. and Finding Nemo were 2-Disc special editions, and A Bug's Life eventually got a 2-disc edition as well. So if trends are any indication, looks like the 2-disc Incredibles will be safe from "double dipping" for quite a while.

the "essay" by Violet's VA was so damn BORING! thankfully the rest of the disk makes up for it!I love Sarah Vowell and her deadpan sensibilities. In case you were wondering, pretty much everything she says is a joke.

The movie is as great as it ever was. A LOT of funny moments and a lot of surprisingly TOUCHING moments too. This was Pixar's first straight up action movie and it helped that we were so invested in the characters. I thought the voice actors did a wonderful job (ESPECIALLY Craig T. Nelson and Holly Hunter). I love Edna Mole too. As great as I remembered: *****.

I LOVED Mr. Incredible and Pals and thought the commentary by Mr. Incredible and Frozone was perhaps the funniest commentary I've ever heard. I loved Frozone being appalled that they made his character a WHITE beatnik. Truly funny: *****.

Jack-Jack Attack: I thought the babysitter from the movie was a riot so it was good to see more of her here. I liked the fact that it tied into the movie so well. I also thought Jack-Jack was VERY cute: *****.

Boundin': I liked this better the second time I saw it and learned a little more about Bud Luckey. It certainly is DIFFERENT from any Pixar cartoon I've seen and that just makes it special. ****1/2.

Extras: I LOVED the extras, particularly the sock puppet version of the film (which I found on my own, thank you very much) and the character files. (one of the Supers was raising five adopted kids with the help of his male "roommate"!) I actually liked Brad Bird's commentary and I found it much more interesting than the animator's one. So, yeah, great extras. *****.

Average for the entire DVD: *****.

I have a question hopefully y'all can help me out with. On the second disc I can no longer get the opening screen of the hall being lit up and the computer screen typing up Kronos. Is there a way to be able to see this screen again? When I turn my DVD off and then on later it always goes straight to the menu. A little help here would be appreciated. Thanks!
