It doesn't look like anyone's talking about this, but adult swim will end at 6 a.m. instead of 5 a.m. starting March 28th.

Maybe it's a sick adult swim joke, but it does have potential! :D

Cool, but for some reason when I heard they were getting another hour I thought they were going to go to 10, so I'm a bit disapointed seeing as I never stay up that late. Yeah, yeah, I know that was a silly thing to think, and wishful thinking on my part.

The AS regular schedule still dosen't list the change for adding 5-6. What shows will they air at that time? You know, I think they should air Space Ghost Coast To Coast, the Brak Show, other cancelled AS shows there. It's not like anyone even watches the 5-6 hour in the first place, and it would be good for the fans that would want to stay up that late.

Nice! I wonder what they're going to stick in the time slot?

I don't think AS will air programs that get added to the schedule in the 5 to 6 slot. More likely they will add an hour of shows that they haven't been able to get in the schedule in the 2 to 3AM slot before going into the daily encore episodes.

Maybe Kikaider and Blue Gender can finally get their death runs.

Hey, great, now I'll have something to watch right before I leave for work! In my area cable TV airs an hour later than its given time, so AS will go all the way until seven in the morning. Never thought anything good would come out of being an hour later than the rest of the country....

I was reading your message, and I was all like, "but that only happens in Arizona! DON'T TELL ME YET ANOTHER PERSON HAS TO SUFFER THE SAME FATE!"

Then I looked at your thingy and it said "Flagstaff, AZ." Tusconan, meself.

Personally? I hate the lack of daylight savings. Or at the least, the cable company should give us the eastern feed as well so we can at least watch our shows two hours early if we don't feel like watching them one hour late.

Other than the slight inconvenience of cable television delay, I love how we eschew Daylight Savings. It was an idea that made sense back when the majority of the population was made up of farmers, but in this day and age it's just silly. We all work in buildings with electric lights, so who cares when the sun rises? I just wish the rest of the foolish benighted country would get on board with us smart Arizonans. (-:
Speaking of which, I should probably change my profile now that I'm back in Tucson.

So, do they have daylight savings time in other countries?

Actually, yes. It's just a way of artificially getting more time of the summer days.

So, do they have daylight savings time in other countries? About seventy countries use Daylight Saving Time. The rest, obviously, do not.

Examples of countries that do not include Japan and China (neither of which have Daylight Saving Time nor multiple timezones) and most equatorial countries.

But then it wouldn't be the "international" channel, would it? It would be the Asian Channel. I don't care either way because I have DiSH Network and they don't offer the International Channel because they have international packages!

NO!!!!!!!!

Now there is no hope for older Cartoon Network Originals to repeat at 5a! I was hoping for something to advance Time Squad after its, like, five runs.

I really, severely doubt that Adult Swim needs another hour. It already receives, no, make that mismanages plenty of time seven days a week.

Equatorial countries don't need DST - they're daylight time doesn't fluctuate as much as northern or southern countries.

Japan debates a DST bill every year (this year's will be submitted in a couple of weeks, in fact).

It's been shown that DST conserves power and electricity, so it's good for the environment. It's not just a matter of having electrical lights in the building.

They are? That's news to me. They are. They announced it a while back and have been running ads the last few weeks about the change. And they're moving all their anime to Tuesdays and Saturdays. Personally, I'll miss the morning news in German, which I would watch once in a while.

They also just launched a 24-hr Korean channel.

Who here actully will watch it at 5 am?The extra hour doesn't mean that two different shows will be slapped at the end of the block at 5:00 a.m....an extra hour of adult swim only means one extra show. Instead of repeats starting at 2:00, they'll now start at 2:30 and end at 6:00, and there will be room for only one more half hour show at 2:00.

So the scheduel will most likely be

11:00 Family Guy
11:30 Futurama
12:00 ATHF
12:30 Inuyasha
1:00 Trigun
1:30 Big o
2:00 anime?

2:30 Family Guy
3:00 Futurama
3:30 ATHF
4:00 Inuyasha
4:30 Trigun
5:00 Big O
5:30 anime?

If SGC2C is at that hour, I will highly consider it. ;)

I think that the 5-Spot will be for whatever other show is being repeated that night (ex. Trigun and Big O at that hour if the 2 AM spot is a whole new hour or there's only one new show at 2 AM bumping the Family Guy repeat to 2:30 AM and everything else up a half hour.)

*raises hand* I have to wake up for work early. A little TV with my breakfast is a great way to start the day.

Besides, it's not like AS'll have a tough time beating the ratings of whatever is currently playing at five in the morning.

Not to mention I'm sure that say Space Ghost Coast to Coast would get higher ratings then Time Squad or Captain Planet at that hour. Or at least I would think so.

Bring back the ghost. Better than that Time Squad atrocity (you watch enough times, and you too will go postal!)

Where I come from, we have the German TV cable network, with programming in German for about $9.95/month (the only channel in an "International" programming package right now, although we're supposed to be getting a "Bangladesh channel" sometime soon.)

And though there'll be more anime than I've been seeing lately on I-Channel, I still want the Anime Network (both the 24/7 and On Demand channels!)--which we don't get up here in upstate New York, but if a few more of us scream good and loud enough, maybe we will...

I was checking the Boomerang boards, and if the source on that board is correct, here's what the 5AM line-up will be like:

5:00: Popeye Show
5:30: The Bob Clampett Show/Toonheads

It looks like the final hour will be targetted towards a third group of adults: those who grew up watching old cartoons in syndication and/or the Turner networks.

Classics on CN again? Woooooooooooooohooooooooooo!!!

That's a good use of that last hour for sure. Though I was hoping the extra hour wouldn't be at the tail end of the block but ah well... it's nice for the classic animation fans so I have no gripes.

Also this means if CC comes back to weekdays it wont have a horrible slot.

Kikaider was about a robot who befriends the daughter of his creator. Reign was about Alexander the Great.

what international channel gonna be change but why?
The International Channel will disappear in favor of an all-Asian channel of a different name. The effect on anime will be that instead of showing anime several nights a week, they'll air all the shows in one night, and start a regular slot for anime movies.
